There has been a recurrent publications of the failures of some popular Covid-19 vaccine in Europe and the Americas. One of those vaccines is the Pfizer vaccine which have be declared by the media as harmful to human lives. The failures of these vaccine have placed the entire world in a state of comatose. This have had a wide range of upward movement of transmission and infections around the world most especially in the UK and the United States of America. The inabilities of the covid-19 vaccine to end the coronavirus and to tackle the Omicron variant of the covid-19, is very disappointing in respect to the funds and efforts out into the research and development of the vaccine. In the past and somehow now, Africa has usually been a dumping ground for second hand goods and at some point expired ones from the first world. During the heat of the covid-19 lockdowns in 2020, there was a rumour about the donation of expired and infected nose or face mask from China to Nigeria. The ignorant or hungry leaders of African countries will receive those donations without verification of the items donated (as pertaining the face mask). Whether the rumour is true or not, it's not my major challenge right now, what matters to me now is the fact that the scientists and research in the field of microbiology from African descent have not attempted to develop a vaccine that could combat the covid-19 pandemic. At least of they've done this one and succeeded, it would've been a projection of Africa helping the world for once. I've not heard of any vaccine produced by either Nigeria or South Africa, who claims to be the giants of Africa. Be that as it may, hope this vaccines donated to Nigeria by Greece isn't targeted towards reducing the populations or a gradual genocidal instrument to affect the poor masses in Nigeria. Greece donated about one million doses of the Johnson and Johnson (J&J) Covid-19 vaccine to the federal government of Nigeria through the Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama on Monday the 10th of January, 2022. The Greece delegation was led by the Greece Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikolaos Dendias. According to Dendias:
Nigeria and Greece have enjoyed a favourable bond over the years and that his country was even willing to expand the relationship... that such an expansion would culminate in the signing of Memoranda of Understanding on various issues affecting both countries.
My issue is not that signing a bilateral agreement is bad, but why is it that a bilateral agreement will be signed because of arrival of covid-19 vaccine to Nigeria. Who knows the potencies of the donated vaccines in tackling the coronavirus in Nigeria. It's a truism that every nation that signs a bilateral agreement with other nations have something in mind to benefit their foreign policy goals. Although I can't tell what the Greece government needs from Nigeria but I certainly know that the donations was not got for giving sake. Whatever the political reasons are I'll sure that Nigeria will pay so heavily in return for the vaccine receive.
Finally, Covid-19 to me is either means to an end or an end in itself. Those companies projecting fake and failed vaccines to the world should know that once upon a time there was small pox that ravaged the whole of Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries, today they're no more. One day the world will overcome the shackles of the covid-19 pandemic. Thanks and God bless.
This is a terrible donation. It is failing in Europe, the death-rate of the vaccine seems to be worse than the death-rate for covid, especially in younger populations.
It's very terrible to see a government such as that of Nigeria accepting vaccines from Europe and are about to force the vaccine in their citizens. This is the highest level of lunacy have seen. Thanks for the comments.
