Sending Yoshi to Get His Hair Trimmed - First Time Ever! 😮

in Hive Pets • 10 months ago

I thought this was too funny not to share! Years ago, we adopted a dog off the street. He came into the neighborhood and just hung around until we decided to keep him. He matched our other dogs (all white), so it worked out. We named him Yoshi and he has always lived outside in a little shelter.

The other day I noticed his hair was really matted, so I tried to brush it. That was very unsuccessful, so I tried cutting out clumps with scissors. I was really getting nowhere as the hair was just in massive clumps. I knew we needed some help, so I called a local dog groomer and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday.

When the lady came to pick him up, I told her he was very strong. As you can see, he's a big guy - maybe a mix between Husky and Malamute. We really aren't sure, but he's got some great, bright blue eyes! She loaded him up in her car and said she would be back in two hours.

When she returned, he looked like a totally different dog! Like some of us really didn't recognize him! His hair was short and he felt like velvet. He was a little pink in places due to the cutter and his collar was also cutting into him. We asked the lady if he really was a Husky because he really didn't look like it anymore! Ha!

She shared on her whatsapp a photo of the process and it looks like he was acting pretty wild. He had to have a muzzle and two leashes to hold him in place. I wonder if the people before him ever trimmed his hair! I am guessing they didn't! We will do a better job of keeping his hair combed out when it starts to grow back.

What do you think? Doesn't he look like a totally different dog??
