Dingo ? Hyena ??

I'm in North Carolina too and I can't imagine why anyone around here would guess either one of those. Maybe they need to get off the internet once in a while and go outside where they live. LOL !

I think you need to teach her to use the toilet bowl and flush. That is WAY too much poop to be picking up all the time. Ew !

She sure is cute though. I love German Shepherds.

Sort:

Isn't she the cutest? iTotally heart her.

How's it going Jacey.Boldart? Thanks for keeping an eye on me. We're neighbors? That's cool. Where about a are you? Don't tell me if you don't want. Or lie, I'll never know. We're all the way west, near Cherokee'ish.

You might be closer to Wilmington, cuz I think I'm the only who has internet here. = }

I'm in Burlington, you know, north'ish,mid-state'ish.

Very cool. Hello, neighbor'ish. We just got here, both are originally from west of here. That's how I say it, cuz California is fighting' words roun'deez'her'parts.

LOL.... I was in California for a split second once. Stayed in the mirrored Bonaventure in LA and of course they could tell we were hillbillies so we got quite the nice view of some other nice buildings from our room, but that didn't stop us from dining in the restaurant that slowly rotated on top of it, so we did get to enjoy a much better view for several hours.

We did a quicky tour of Venice Beach.... quite the crappy surroundings near the beautiful white sand. We also toured quickly the downtown where the famous places were sandwiched between boarded up crumbling old buildings and some of the STARS stars were cracked in the sidewalk. We actually walked down rodeo drive. I know, I'm nearly famous now.

I was much more impressed with the farmers market! The had some really nice offerings that wasn't all that farmy.

Then I went to San Diego for another minute and had horsedoovers and beer outside on the heated porch while watching the sunset over the ocean. That was actually quite pleasant. I bought a ring at a place called Amber and Silver in La Jolla as a souvenir.

I did live in San Antonio, Texas for 6 years as a midlife adventure. Now that there was fun.

Then I came back to where my family is. It made it amazingly obvious how boring it all is around here, something I didn't notice before I experienced somewhere else. ha

My wife is from San Francisco. She'll tell you it's the best. But so will someone from Santa Barbara. San Diego is gorgeous, both of my uncles lived there. I've had so much fun there. Seen I don't know how many performers in San Diego.

I'm from where those old boarded up buildings and crappy surroundings are that you remember so well. Right in the middle of LA County. Grew up there, met Pura when I was in Long Beach. "Home."

But then this homeless guy named Mark told me "home is in the intellectual capacity to be happy" so now I put "home" in quotes.

Best falafel in the world is in Long Beach, a little Syrian lady at a joint called Hip-Pea. We literally travelled the world trying to beat it and couldn't. And the pot pies at Wood Spoon in downtown. Mmmmmm.

Hollywood and Highland, quite a ways down from the star walk, so many contracts are still made on that corner. = }

I keep saying I'm sure I'll die there but I don't think I'll do that for awhile so figured get my feet wet on this side for awhile.

This is fun.

One of my brother-in-laws lived in San Francisco for a good while. Oh the stories ! He was quite a wild child and of course he loved it, but mostly for it's party scene.

You know the entertainment industry only shows the glorified parts of things from a distance and I guess I thought Venice and Hollywood and all were probably much more fabulous back in the day... maybe? ... maybe not? I was surprised they had not at least put some fake facades up to cover the worst of the blemishes for tourists.

"Home is the intellectual capacity to be happy"... I kind of love that.

I haven't really traveled most of my life. For most of it I didn't think I was missing anything and I'm not sure what happened to make me fly away for a while, nothing bad for sure, but I am certainly glad I at least did that.

I like the Hip-Pea name. It's a lot of fun to try food in new places.

I like hearing stories from folks that have done a lot of traveling and fun exploring.

Each time we'd meet someone abroad and I tell them I'm from LA, they naturally assumed I'm friends with movie stars like me and the cast from Friends share an apartment building. Good stuff. When people think Hollywood, they think red carpets and the Hollywood sign. I grew up there, it's my heaven. Carpet and signs are just what TV shows you. I love all the bad just as much as the good.

Fun story..

So that's where I grew. I had met a cousin of mine for the first time cuz apparently my uncle's an asshole and doesn't think raising the kids he makes is his job. We're like 20 at the time.

Took her to Sunset in Hollywood, had her walk the star walk, it's probably 2 or 3am. All I had her do was "just ask three people where Mann's Chinese Theater is." That's all. Woah. She'll never forget that.
