RE: Stay Off Your Feet For 2-3 Weeks

in Hive Petslast year

They hurt we hurt, there is no getting around it. Even though this incident was totally unavoidable, when we're the one on duty there is no getting away from feeling guilty.

Good luck keeping Atlas from behaving like a puppy. What may help him to mellow out a bit are some of those doggie treats that contain some CBDs. I didn't believe they made such treats until our friend told us that she gives a couple of them to her dog before long car rides and that they work great.

I'll make sure that when I get that new tractor I'll keep a keen eye out for anything that looks like a rubber strawberry. The last thing I need would be a tire that is flat on one side.

When Uncle Louie first bought his property he was riding his tractor in one of his hay fields. He ran into a gopher hole and was thrown from his tractor. No injuries, but from that day on if he saw a gopher he would pick it off with his rifle while sitting on his front porch.

Sort:

I just laughed enough to feel it in my stomach repeating the Uncle Louie story to Pura. He didn't know which gopher was responsible so for the rest of his days he had a score to settle.

That is F'ing funny.

It's tough. Gets a little tougher each day. She recently figured out she's got the advantage under the bed. But that's WAY too much pressure on her foot and then I can't catch her so it turns into a game.. for her.

5 more days. Tic, toc. Tic, toc.

We're in Alabama right now. Huntsville. They got a hot real estate market and it was only a 5 hour drive. Heckuva way to keep her off her feet until you let her out!

5 more..

Uncle Louie was a real character, beloved by so many. If it were not for him, we wouldn't have ever thought about buying our property when I was only 25 years old. Back in the day, it was a real struggle to make ends meet, but he convinced us that the bills will continue to roll in so what's one more? It doesn't seem like a lot of money now, but 45 years ago $100.58 a month for 10 years was a bite.

Five more days and the pressure is off, until the next incident. Dogs are like kids, mischief is to be expected and doctor bills become part of the budget.

At least you didn't step into the gopher hole although that would have looked pretty funny, of course, only if no injuries were incurred.

Are you looking to possibly buy in that area? My Aunt Eileen lives in Alabama and it seemed to work out for her as she made it to 100 years and she's still going strong.

100?? Dang! That's like the ladies on Pura's side. Her nana was a week shy of 102 when she died at the home she lived in BY HERSELF! And her grandmother is 86 and plays tennis every day, manages neighborhood stuff, holidays at their house, et cetera. Impressive. My only grandparents were gone at 74 and 76.

Yes. Shes got a couple vacation/seasonal type properties we're scoping out and wanted to see in person. A real good friend of mine who does this kinda real estate venturing stuff for a living once told me if it pencils out, it pencils out.

Dang, Bob. It pencils out here. So, she just (as in just) got us a viewing; 1+1+loft overlooking Guntersville Lake this afternoon.

Good stuff.

I don't think I'll make a 100 or would want to.

I just took a look at Guntersville Lake, it looks like a great place to hang out for ???. It's the largest lake in the state, with 67,900 acres. It looks like there're a ton of things to do in the area including bike paths, right up your alley.

I also took a look at some cabins that are right on the lake. A lot of them looked new, with many of them priced under $200 a night. Heck, they even had a floating cabin for less than 100 a night.
I can see why you are interested.

Don't forget about Atlas, it would be a little difficult keeping her under wraps.

Your due diligence doesn't surprise me.

You get the one on the left, I'll get the one on the right. We'll rent'em out year round all except for maybe a couple weeks around Labor Day which also happens to be DanDays birthday.

See you then.

I like to see the places my man is going. I'm not a big fan of sitting on the beach, but hanging around a lake is my cup of tea.
Headed to Jersey in an hour, trying to get out early to beat the snowstorm that is supposed to start around 9. I'm over the winter weather.
Talk when we get back, have a great weekend.
