Bucks story 🐶

Every dog that lives in my house has its own story. Most often these are not very happy stories. But I hope these are stories with a happy ending. I often hug one of them and say "Don't worry! All the bad things in your dog life are over!" And I really want it to really be so that nothing, not even war, can change it.

Recently I told you how Mouse appeared in my house. Today I will tell the story of Bucks.

Bucks appeared in my house one of the last. It was two years ago. At that moment, I had already decided that I was not going to get new dogs, because it was getting difficult with the ones I already had. But Bucks had a real misfortune - his owner died, and the heir, as often happens, left a shepherd dog for himself, and drove the pedigreeless Bucks away from the yard.

The unfortunate dog wandered the streets and did not know what to do at all. He did not know how to survive on his own, did not know how to find food, where to get a place to sleep. In one moment, his life turned upside down.

It must be said that there is a big difference between dogs (and cats too) who were born and grew up on the street and those who got there as adults due to some circumstances: it is very difficult for the latter to survive, and sometimes it is simply impossible.

The volunteer who "matched" him to me described Bucks as a dog of incredible beauty, "he is definitely a Labrador!" My friend and I were laughing over that "Labrador" because at first glance it was clear that there would be more chances to catch the Loch Ness monster than to adopt this “incredible labrador” in a new family 🤣

This is a very sad truth, but there are thousands of such dogs. Potential adopters just don't notice them because there's nothing about them... absolutely nothing... They can be very smart, kind and sweet, but no one will know about it, because no one will try to adopt them. This is a very sad story. And when I agreed to take Bucks into my house, I understood that most likely it would be my other dog.

In addition, it turned out to be very difficult to contact him. He was afraid of people and he was afraid of me. Probably the weeks he spent wandering had already taught him that people can be very unpleasant and evil creatures. I put him in the car and all the two hours that we were driving home, he wept bitterly over his miserable life and from fear, because he did not know who I was and where I was taking him.

When we finally arrived, he flatly refused to go into the house. He was running around the car and I couldn't catch him. What was really sad was that he refused to even just go to the courtyard. That meant I couldn't open the gate without risking him running away. I was trapped in my own house.

I patched up the holes under the gate as best I could, and we began to live like in a besieged fortress.

We had been living like this for several days, when one morning I saw that Bucks had run off. I was in despair! The dog didn't come up to people, didn't know the village... I couldn't even imagine where to look for him... I was already going to search when I saw four black front paws under the gate: two cats and two dogs. Being very careful not to startle Bucks, I stuck my nose out into the street. Under the gate was standing a really confused Bucks, and next to him my black cat Feya: "Take your frick away! I have nothing else to do but collect your dogs around the village!"

From that day on, Buck's behavior began to change. I do not rule out that he simply realized that he had nowhere to run. At first, he agreed moved into the corridor, which made my life much easier, because I could finally open the gate.

Gradually, he got to know other dogs. Stepan became his best friend. He allegedly took this incoherent, frightened dog under his care.

The day of sterilization also became a small test. Bucks really didn't want to go to the clinic. But rules are rules. Everything went well and in a few days everything was already forgotten.

Gradually, from a wild, frightened and unhappy Bucks turned into a self-confident pet. He is quite friendly with other dogs, rarely conflicts. Its only drawback is that it can be quite noisy.

It's very sad the story of Bucks, but I'm glad it ended with a happy ending.

It's a sad and strong reality to know that outside there are many little animals needing our help, at least it's good to know that there are people like you who are able to help these innocent creatures:'c
