Momma Lucy

Hello fellow pet lovers!
This is an update on preggy lucy.
Well my baby is now a mother as she recently gave birth to a healthy bouncing baby girl!
I haven’t been able to take a proper picture of the pup because her mom has been overly protective to the point that if you even dare look at her child, she growls and eventually bites. So to avoid further stressing the new mother, I decided to keep the baby shoot on hold till she’s comfortable enough.

I watched how Lucy embraced motherhood and I have to say, it’s such a beautiful thing to witness.
Speaking of being overly protective, Lucy almost never left her baby’s side during the first two weeks after the baby was born, the only exception was whenever she had to pee or poo.
Normally at the sound of a knock, Lucy would immediately sprint to the door to check who it is but after she gave birth, all her undivided attention has since been on her baby.
This has been happening until about three weeks later now she’s gradually giving her baby some space and making time for her usual activities.

Unfortunately, she gave birth to an only child and honestly I am so glad because even as it’s only one pup, the worn out look on her face sometimes when she’s catering for her child makes me go so soft inside not to talk of adding five or more puppies, the stress would be unbearable. I think.

Furthermore, the baby has grown so big in such little space of time and I believe its as a result of excess feeding.
Because she’s an only child, she automatically has unlimited access to all of her mothers breast milk.
She demands to suck several times per day and no matter how exhausted Lucy looks, she always run to her call.
At the slightest wince or cry or even small movement from her baby, Lucy comes running to know what’s wrong, it’s almost as if she is summoned.
Despite the stress, she really is a wonderful mother.

It doesn’t end there.
Not only has Lucy been super attentive to her child, she now also put herself last and her pup first.
After she gave birth, the vet advised that we should always ensure the baby is kept in a warm and cozy place but the Lucy I know loves laying on a nice and cold area, in fact her favorite spot is right below the AC.
Well momma had to abandon her needs to stay with her baby in the warm shed. Although sometimes she steals a minute or two to go lay down at her favorite cool spot where the AC blows but for most of the time she’s always with her baby in the heat.

Finally fast forward to three weeks later after the barrier Lucy built between her baby and the world has subsided a little, I took the liberty to commence the long awaited baby shoot and asides the obstructions at interval from the new momma, it went pretty well and these are the results.

I just realized the baby has blue eyes and even a love shaped belly, it doesn’t get cuter than this!
Lest I forget, her name is Tracy matching her momma Lucy!
