"So What Happened To Your Dogs?"

This was the most asked question I got when I made it known to friends and family that I was relocating out of Nigeria. Anyone who's been in contact with me in the last 1½ year knows my dog is my baby so it's not weird it was a top priority question. Each time I got asked, it left a stinging pang in my heart because it was a steady reminder that I was parting ways with Panda and her puppies.

I always knew I loved dogs even though I had a slight fear of them. I found them cute but I didn't trust their behaviour because I never lived with one for a long period of time. There was a strong conviction that if I had my own dog, I would eventually open up to other dogs and no longer be scared of random dogs. I'm happy to say I was right as I now have zero fear of dogs. Well, let's say for the dogs I saw in Nigeria, I have seen all sorts of gigantic breeds in the UK that left my mouth wide open.

Panda came into my life in January 2022 and she's been the best companion. She comes off as aggressive to some strangers but that's because she doesn't like their energies and she gets anxious so she barks. She's harmless and couldn't hurt a fly even if she tried but most people don't want to hear that when this tiny little Lhasa of a dog begins barking.

She barks up a storm and you'd think it was a bigger dog if you didn't see her. On the other hand, she can be really sweet and playful to strangers you'd never guess she has a big bark. It's really all about energies because we both kinda feel the same about people mostly, weird huh?

So yeah, what happened to Panda? Panda is in safe hands, she now has a new pawrent whose a friend of Belemo. She knows him, spent time at his place several times before, and they seem to be kicking it off currently. I cried so many times in the months and weeks leading to our separation but I'm happy she's in a good home now.

Her puppies all have new homes too and they all look healthy and happy. I never got to write much about her puppies in the five months I had them but they all had interesting personalities. I have lots of tales about four out of five of them because they were a lot to handle. One thing's for sure, they all love good pampering and I think they're with people who are going to give them lots of that.

It's really sad that we're not in a position to travel with our dog or any one of her puppies, but there's consolation that they're in handpicked loving homes now.

Aaww this is so sad... I can't imagine being away from my pets and them being in another home. But good thing now that you found people who will love them as family.

It's one of the saddest feelings ever. I'll never stop seeing them as mine.

Realmente los vínculos que se establecen con las mascotas son profundos, me imagino lo difícil para ti separarte de ellos, pero si están bien cuidados y queridos...es lo importante, un abrazo!
