Hey there, Hivians! We’re excited to share some updates about The Dapp List and take a moment to explain things in a clear and simple way. In this article, we’ll cover important details, like why we’re voting the way we are, why your votes matter so much, how #TheDappList uses votes to function, and a bunch of other helpful information to keep you in the loop. Let’s dive in and break it all down!

Presenting Hive and our Ecosystem

Let’s talk about why simply adding the #Hive Blockchain to The Dapp List and including just a few dapps from our ecosystem isn’t enough to make things exciting. Imagine looking at a blockchain with only a handful of dapps listed—doesn’t sound very impressive or interesting, does it? A chain with just a couple of dapps might feel empty or boring, and we definitely don’t want that for Hive! That’s why it’s super important to add as many Hive projects as we possibly can to The Dapp List. By including a wide variety of projects, we can make the Hive #Blockchain look vibrant, active, and truly awesome to everyone who checks it out.

But there’s more to it than just making Hive look cool. Another big reason to add as many dapps as possible to the list of Hive projects on The Dapp List is that it helps the Hive Blockchain stand out and rank higher. When we have more dapps listed, it shows that our #ecosystem is strong and full of activity, which can boost Hive’s position on the Chain Leaderboard. Now, you might be wondering about votes—do the total number of votes from all the dapps matter for the leaderboard? Actually, when it comes to ranking on the Chain Leaderboard, the total votes from all the dapps aren’t the main focus. Instead, what matters most is having a large number of dapps to showcase the strength and diversity of the Hive ecosystem.

Why Voting matters

Now let’s dive into why voting for Hive #dapps on The Dapp List is so important and why we should keep encouraging it. There are a few key reasons why votes matter, and we’ll break them down in a simple way to make sure everyone understands. Plus, we’ll explain how voting helps our dapps shine and get noticed, so let’s get started!

First off, we really don’t want our Hive dapps to look weak or unpopular. If a dapp only has a tiny number of votes, like just 10, it might seem like nobody cares about it, and that’s not the impression we want to give. Sure, we might not get thousands of votes like some of the top dapps on the leaderboard, but having a solid number of votes—like 100 instead of just 10—makes a huge difference. It shows that our #community is active, engaged, and excited about our projects. A dapp with more votes looks stronger and more appealing to anyone browsing The Dapp List, which can attract new users and supporters to the Hive ecosystem.

Another big reason voting is so important has to do with how users find dapps on The Dapp List. When people search for dapps by category, like gaming or finance, they often look at the category #leaderboards. These leaderboards show a mix of the most-voted dapps and the most recently added ones. Right now, there are still some small bugs in how categories work on The Dapp List, but once those are fixed, our Hive dapps—especially our gaming dapps—have a great chance to climb up the leaderboards. More votes mean our dapps are more likely to appear higher in these category rankings, making it easier for people to discover them. So, every vote helps our dapps get the attention they deserve!

Let’s talk about how things used to work on The Dapp List before their big website update. In the past, a dapp needed at least 50 #votes to even be found on the site. That was a hard rule back then! Thankfully, that requirement is gone now, so dapps can be listed without needing 50 votes first. But just because that rule changed doesn’t mean we should stop voting for Hive dapps. Voting is still one of the best ways to support our projects and help them stand out. Instead of trying to get votes for all Hive dapps at once, the most effective strategy is to focus on one dapp at a time. For example, if we write a single article asking everyone to vote for every Hive dapp, it’s hard to get enough votes for any of them. But by focusing on #promoting one dapp at a time, we can rally the community and build up a strong number of votes for each project. This approach has already helped us achieve a lot, and we can keep building on that success!

Let’s circle back to that old 50-vote rule and explain how things work now. Even though 50 votes aren’t required for a dapp to be found anymore, getting at least 50 votes is still super important for new dapps on The Dapp List. Why? Because when a new dapp reaches 50 votes, it gets listed in the “Recent Dapps” section of the site. Being in that section gives the dapp extra #visibility, which means more people will see it and check it out. Plus, when our dapps get a lot of votes, they can also appear in the “Popular” section of The Dapp List. This is another awesome way for our dapps to get noticed by new users. So, voting doesn’t just help one part of the site—it boosts our dapps’ visibility in multiple places, giving them even more chances to shine.

In short, voting for Hive dapps is a powerful way to support our community and make our projects look strong, active, and exciting. By focusing on one dapp at a time, encouraging everyone to vote, and aiming for at least 50 votes for new dapps, we can help Hive stand out on The Dapp List. Let’s keep the momentum going, keep voting, and show the world how amazing the Hive ecosystem is!

Is 100 to 200 votes al we got as a community?

Let’s have a big conversation about our amazing Hive ecosystem and why voting for our dapps on The Dapp List is so important. We’ve got a fantastic group of active users on Hive—around 8,000 or maybe even 10,000, I can’t quite remember the exact number! That’s a lot of people who could help make our dapps shine. But we’ve noticed something, and we want to talk about it: even with all these users, we often see the same small group of #Hivians voting for our dapps. So, let’s break it all down, explain how we’re spreading the word about voting, and figure out how we can get more of our awesome community involved!

Every week, we work hard to promote voting for Hive dapps, and we’ve got a great system in place. For starters, we post a special voting article every single Friday. This article is packed with information about why voting matters and which dapp we’re focusing on that week. These articles are super popular—they often climb up to the Top Trending section on Hive and stay there for a couple of days! Being in Top #Trending is a fantastic spot because it means tons of people see the article, learn about the dapp, and hopefully head over to The Dapp List to cast their votes. It’s like putting a big, shiny spotlight on our dapps, and it’s a great way to get the word out to our community.

But that’s not the only way we spread the news! The dapps themselves also get involved by sharing #announcements on their own social media accounts. They post messages encouraging their followers to go vote for them on The Dapp List. This adds an extra layer of visibility because it reaches people who might not be checking Hive every day but follow the dapp on other platforms. It’s like sending out a friendly reminder to a whole new group of supporters, and it helps bring even more eyes to our projects. More people seeing these posts means more potential votes, which is exactly what we want!

We don’t stop there, either. We also share our voting updates on X, and here’s where it gets even cooler: the main Hive account often #reposts these updates. When the main Hive account shares our posts, it reaches a huge audience, including people who might not be super active on Hive but still want to support our ecosystem. This reposting is like giving our dapps a megaphone to reach far and wide, and it’s another awesome way to encourage more votes. Every time we post on X and get that repost, it’s a chance to bring in new voters and show the world how strong our community is.

And if all that wasn’t exciting enough, we’ve got one more special touch to make voting even more fun: rewards! Thanks to some amazing folks and teams in our community—like @Acidyo, the @OCD Team, the @Threespeak Team, @blocktrades, and all the dapps themselves—we’re able to reward everyone who takes the time to vote. These rewards are our way of saying “thank you” to everyone who supports our dapps. It’s like putting a cherry on top of an already awesome effort! Whether it’s a small token of appreciation or something bigger, these rewards show how much we value every single vote and every person who helps our dapps succeed.

Now, with all these efforts—Friday articles, social media posts, X updates, reposts, and rewards—you’d think we’d have thousands of Hivians rushing to vote, right? But here’s the big question: where is everyone? With 8,000 or maybe 10,000 active users in our Hive community, we have a huge group of people who could make a massive difference by voting for our dapps. Yet, when we look at the votes on The Dapp List, we often see the same familiar names showing up again and again. Don’t get us wrong—we’re incredibly grateful for those dedicated Hivians who vote every week! You’re the heroes keeping our dapps strong. But we can’t help but wonder why more of our community isn’t joining in.

Voting for Hive dapps is such an easy way to support our ecosystem. It only takes a few moments to head over to The Dapp List, find the dapp we’re promoting, and cast a vote. Those votes add up and help our dapps look active, #popular, and exciting to new users. They also help our dapps climb the leaderboards, get featured in sections like “Recent Dapps” or “Popular,” and attract more attention to the Hive Blockchain as a whole. Every single vote makes a difference, and with thousands of Hivians in our community, imagine how powerful it would be if more people got involved!

So, let’s make a plan to get more of our 8,000 (or 10,000!) Hivians voting. Maybe some folks don’t know how easy it is to vote, or maybe they haven’t seen our Friday #articles yet. Maybe they’re not sure why their vote matters. That’s why we’re going to keep spreading the word, making it super clear how voting helps, and inviting everyone to join the fun. If you’re reading this and you haven’t voted for a Hive dapp yet, now’s the perfect time to start! Check out our Friday article, follow the dapps’ #socialmedia, or look for our posts on X. And if you’re already one of our regular voters, thank you—you’re amazing! Let’s keep encouraging our friends in the Hive community to jump in and vote, too.

Thanks for this deep dive about The Dapp List and thanks for all your work on promoting HIVE there and all the other Web2 media! 🙏
Promoting HIVE out there and having it on as many places as possible is super important... And as we do have an active community, we could (and should) do better in that regard! Presenting HIVE, voting, and just being out there is a must!

Picking this post for bigger exposure!!! 💪

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project! Check out our Reading Suggestions Posts!

Please consider voting for our Liotes HIVE Witness. Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time reading this important article and fushing it forward for more people to see. It is indeed important to promote Hive everywhere we can with the help of our community.

First of all, I want to thank you for making this happen and to thank everyone who has been voting so far for their efforts.

I wish to vote for the Dapps every time I see your Friday call to action post, but the Daplist site makes voting on the site extremely difficult for people in my region; I do not know why it's that I wish they could change that.

I managed to vote once, but I haven't been able to vote ever since, no matter how I try, the same thing happened with my friends I told to go and vote.

I hope that people who can access the site will come out and join this initiative. It's such a great opportunity to put the hive in the spotlight, and we should make use of it.

Oh, you're lucky to have voted for the first time, I haven't. Having same issue with the site.

It seems the site isn't meant for people in our location.

I just wonder why it's so. Well, it's their loss.

Thank you for your support and kind words! I’m really sorry to hear that you and your friends are facing difficulties voting on the Dapplist site—it’s frustrating when regional access issues get in the way. Could you share any specific errors or details about the problem? I’ll pass this along to The Dapp List team to see if we can figure out what’s going on. In the meantime, your enthusiasm for Hive and spreading the word is truly appreciated! And in what part of the world are you from?

This will be very much appreciated.

I can't get pass this when I try to connect my meta mask wallet.

And the other wallet options won't just go through as well.

I'm from Nigeria

This article was needed! Thank you so much. Obviously everytime I see a post asking for votes for a specific dApp. I just go and vote and post about it.

But now I understand what I am voting for and I would recommend adding a URL link to the Hive's page so that people like me who may have missed one can go back and just vote for ALL the dapps under Hive.

https://thedapplist.com/chain/hive For anyone else who wants it. Turns out I only voted for 4 dapps and I have some work to do this morning! :)

Great feedback! Adding a direct link to Hive's page is a solid idea to help folks like yourself easily find and vote for all the dApps. Thanks for sharing the link (https://thedapplist.com/chain/hive) and spreading the word. Happy voting!

I must commend your efforts on this project and thanks for this detailed information about importance of voting the DApps.

I don't know what the issue is, but the site isn't allowing me to vote, not to even connect my wallet, despite several trials from the first call to action about voting Splinterland. Recall that I was enthusiastic about the project and waited patiently for the voting to kick off.

It's really discouraging to see that you can't be part of what happens in a community you belong due to no fault of yours.

I hope that whatever is the issue will be fixed soon.

Thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm for the project! I'm really sorry to hear you're having trouble voting or connecting your wallet—that sounds frustrating. It’s definitely not the experience we want for community members like you. Could you share any specific error messages you're seeing? In the meantime, I’ll flag this for The Dapp List team to investigate. Hang in there, and hopefully, we’ll get this sorted soon!

You're welcome. I recall the week Splinterland voting went live, I tried voting but got a message the site was on maintenance. I don't if it was general. After 2 days, I checked, they were back, but I couldn't connect wallet. I selected the preferred wallet but it wasn't connecting. h

I may have to try it again to see if I could get any error message.

Can we know what wallet en browser did you use?

Chrome browser
Metamask
Bitget.
I tried again, had to do a screen record. Would have shared it here if possible

Thanks for the reminder i did not see the hive chain overview before..

So i voted on my favorite hive projects at https://thedapplist.com/chain/hive

Awesome stuff! Thank you for your support 😉

Yup, this is totally necessary. In some kind of way, we need to get Hive bigger exposure. Whether this is through twitter or reddit or these kinds of of initiatives: all of them will help at least a little. The voting really only takes 2.1 second so the call to action seems valid.

Good to know these are always on fridays, it will be easier for people to be a bit more attentive to it!
And as always you guys deserve the world for bringing all of these things to the attention. <3

Absolutely agree—every bit of exposure helps Hive grow! Thanks for highlighting the quick voting process; it’s such an easy way to make an impact. Noted on the Friday schedule—glad that makes it easier to stay on top of. Appreciating the love and support, you’re awesome for jumping in!

Hello!
Excellent explanation you provide to help us better understand this support system!
In my case, I've already voted for all the hive communities on the Dapp List with great pleasure!

Thanks for the kind words! Thrilled to hear you’ve already voted for all the Hive communities on the Dapp List—way to show that support! Keep rocking it!

A pleasure!
Anything you can support will be welcome!
Thank you so much!

The only reason I can think of why there are not more votes is that enough people love Hive but only Hive, and they are scared to venture outside (the few times when they did ended up with "bruises"). If someone could help make a short video with the voting process to show them how easy it can be, I think maybe we can attract a category of voters who can easily follow detailed instructions but get lost without them.

We can gather a strong amount of votes together!!
