Happy Doggo- Digital art

Hi everyone today I am here with my Digital art-3. A happy doggo. reference is taken from https://shoutoutla.com/meet-jennifer-gennari-fine-artist/ who is great artist, btw if you like furries be sure to check her.
so let's start with the beginning. I choose this reference because I want to try krita's brush and also this photo was love at first sight.

Marked areas where everything should be, just a rough outline. (Diclamer: I didn't knew the workflow of digital art and tried figuring it out myself and created a mess which I will post at end )

Made the eyes and nose in different layer and you can also see the brushes I am using are from weird category. These were really unique brushes and interesting.

So deleted the 1st rough sketch and made things clearer. now only thing which is left to make was shadows and highlights. Also, I wasn't trying very hard for textures or hairs because I tried ut realised am not skilled enough .

So this is the nose eyes layer. Eyes were bit small so used lasso tool to cut it and enlarge it which again is one of the best feature of digital painting. you can see some of the mess here. Those shadows weren't suppose to be here but I don't know how It got there.

By this time I had already invested way too much time for trying out brushes and realised my basics are too weak 😞. I struggled a lot to paint those shadows or furs like way too much struggle.

Almost complete just missing the wiskers :) which was the best part to paint.

Final result!
After a lot of struggle with layers and shadows and also lack of basics knowledge of painting, I managed this. Making this made me realise I've had to start from the basics like from holding the pencil correctly basics.
Now this learning was from art perspective, Let me show my digital perspective.

This is the eyes and nose layer but somehow some shadow also managed to get here :)

This is the shadow layer. it's so hard to make changes in it.

This layer is also a mess. managing layer was very difficult for me. Gotta learn this too. This was all for this one. I am considering of learning from start like doing figure studies, values, drawing exercise etc wish me luck.
