En tus campos, Ucrania,
desbordó la belleza sus trigos y sus flores;
en tus cielos, las aves
se tiñeron de azul y de amarillo
y se izaron alegres como sus banderas;
en tus ríos serpenteaban las aguas
como hermosas criaturas que pasean por la tierra.

Hace un año que el fusil malogra tus piernas,
hace un año que el cañón te revuelve la sangre,
hace un año que han querido ponerte de rodillas,
pero tus flores siguen vivas,
en los campos de guerra,
frente a frente luchando contra los desalmados;
pero tu trigo sigue siendo esperanza de la libertad;
y en tus ríos las aguas dejarán de sangrar.

En tus cielos, Ucrania, luchar es libertad;
tristemente has tenido que poner los cadáveres,
te ha tocado jugártela, recibir la maldad;
te tocaron la puerta
y mostraste tus puños sin odiar al rival.

Ucrania, vencerás,
larga ha sido la lista de los peores tiranos,
pero al final la muerte le clava su puñal.
El cielo azul espera que el sol de libertad
tiña tus horizontes de amarillo y de trigo
y nuevamente formen tu bandera y la paz.

In your fields, Ukraine
beauty overflowed its wheat and flowers
in your skies, the birds were tinged
of blue and yellow and rose up joyously
like your flags;
in your rivers the waters meandered
like beautiful creatures strolling on the earth.

It's been a year that the rifle has been spoiling your legs,
it's been a year since the cannon stirred your blood,
it's been a year since they've wanted to bring you to your knees,
but your flowers are still alive,
in the fields of war,
face to face fighting against the heartless;
but your wheat is still the hope of freedom;
and in your rivers the waters will stop bleeding.

In your sky, Ukraine, one dies for freedom;
you had to place the corpses,
you had to bet against evil;
they knocked at your door
and you showed your fists without hating the rival.

Ukraine will win,
long has been the list of the worst tyrants,
but in the end death stabs him with its dagger.
The blue sky awaits the sun of freedom
to dye wheat and yellow your horizons
to form again your flag and peace.
