Enhancing my Son's Hand and Eye Coordination by Way of Drawing Using "Practice Copy Book - Drawing"

Greetings!

Us parents are very happy when we see some developments in our child be it in writing, drawing, or speaking. Do you still remember the time you saw your child speak his/her first words or the time when he/she starts to walk? It is priceless. With just a little development that we see in our children, it makes us very happy, a happy feeling that no money can buy.

My son just turned five years old last September 2019 that makes him basically a four years old toddler. My son still has a long way to go in developing his style of writing and drawing skills.

To help my son in developing his eye and hand coordination I scheduled a drawing lesson for him using a "Practice Copy Book" for drawing. The practice copybook is basically a trace-writing drawing where common objects are given as examples to be trace-drawn using a ballpen (the ink will be eventually absorbed by the book, making the objects blank again in just a couple of minutes).

We started the lesson by trace-drawing straight horizontal lines.

Next is trace-drawing a small boat.

After he is done trace-drawing the small boat he then proceeded in trace-drawing a window/cabinet.

In the photo below my son can be seen starting in trace-drawing a window/cabinet

At this point in time, I noticed that trace-drawing is an easy task for him making him hurry up on some of his trace-drawing tasks rendering his trace-drawing a little bit off on some of the examples just like on his trace-drawing of cellular (photo below).

He then set his sight on trace-drawing a sun and some vertical lines.

By the way, before he starts in his trace-drawing task I make sure to introduce to him the object that is he going to trace-draw.

Next, he started trace-drawing a right-leaning diagonal line, this time his trace-drawing is much more acceptable.

We ended the lesson with him trace-drawing a small house with a small chimney.

And that is how his hand and eye coordination lesson goes. I noticed that when he already knows what to do he seemed to do it in a hurry making some lines off the mark. I also noticed that when he has already drawn (on his own) some examples on the practice copybook he would not want to do it anymore.

We reviewed all the objects that he has trace-drawn on this lesson just to make sure that he will remember them once he sees them again somewhere.

oh we use such books too;)
they work fine!

Yes. and they are very helpful.

What a good parent you are! Nowadays, most people don't create time for their children, especially at the toddler level where the level of parents-children interaction matter most, children enjoy the company better!

I am just doing the best that I can. Greetings from the Philippines.
