Hive HF26 Is Coming 🥳 Actifit Wallet Interface Supports RC Delegations 🎉 Witness Ready 🤩

HF26 October 11

As many of you are probably aware, the biggest and greatest update HF26 (hard fork for all you neeerds 🤓) to the Hive blockchain is scheduled in 3 days, on October 11th, 2022!
This is a great milestone for Hive as it brings a lot of improvements and cool features to the chain. We will highlight below a couple of features as well as Actifit support as a hive chain interface.

OBI
  • A new concept and algorithm has been introduced, being the One Block Irreversibility (OBI .. don't you love acronyms now). While we don't want to delve too deep into what this is, but basically it allows blocks to become irreversible in less than 3 seconds, and usually less than 1 second. This is a great speed up from the current average of 45 seconds, but also it eliminates the need to wait for 3 seconds between casting votes on posts (here is an excellent elaborate reading about this by @blocktrades)
RC Delegations
  • Another great concept making it to this update are Resource Credits (RC) delegations. RC delegations have been discussed for a long while and under different shapes, finally the implementation came to be quite similar to how HP delegations work. If you don't know much about RCs, they basically are the units that allow you to transact [for free] on hive. Newbies generally have a very low count of RCs provided on account signup, and need time to refill. As you transact more often with the chain (posting, commenting, voting, or using any custom transaction), you consume RCs. You don't have RCs? you need to wait or power up some HP.
Now a new option is available, via delegated RCs, whereby users can delegate RCs to others to assist them in transacting on the chain. You can be on the delegating or receiving end.
Actifit Wallet RC Delegation Support

We have already implemented support for RC Delegations on our live site. We were able to test out the functionality thanks to the testnet by @gtg, and to a great documentation by @howo (you want the nitty gritty? check here)

As you see below, by visiting your Actifit wallet, you can find new features enabling you to fetch your RC delegations, as well delegate RC.

The Delegate RC feature will open up a box allowing to type in a target user, and an RC amount that you wish to delegate.

RC delegations rely on posting key, so your active key is not needed.

The Active Delegations table populates with your, well, active delegations, and you would see the account to whom you delegated, the amount or RC, as well as actions to either edit or delete.

Please note though that the feature will not be active till HF26 kicks off!

Alongside the introduction of this feature, Actifit will migrate its user signup delegation to RC delegation i/o HP delegation, to optimize our HP usage for voting and rewarding users.

Other Features

Many more cool features will make it. For a complete listing of the HF26 features, you can have a look here

TestNet QA Checks

As mentioned above, thanks to @gtg for providing a testnet API node for HF26, we actually performed a sanity check across actifit functionality by connecting to the node and testing out core chain functions. There were no noticeable issues, and the anticipated release candidate appears to be working properly without any concerns.

Actifit Witness Server #HF26 Upgrade Ready

As many of you know (and thank you for supporting us), Actifit runs a hive witness node, and we have upgraded our witness to the 1.26 code base in anticipation of the HF. We also upgraded our seed node.
We are looking forward to the upgrade, and are on alert for the completion of the hard fork, and beyond!

Awesome… I just learned that I’m also earning “Sports” tokens every time I post my Actifit Updates. That’s awesome.

When do we get your DEFI project then?

we have actually put this on hold for a while due to other priorities and to come up with more innovative options for it, while relying for now on the hive-engine pools for a DEFI option for both AFIT and AFITX.

Ohh, fair

What about AFIT withdrawal to BSC Wallet

hey @iamjabez,
Those are still operational right now with a collateral. We are considering readjusting this soon. We will make an announcement about this.
