Hive is a Layer 1 blockchain, Leo Finance is a layer 2 dapp built on top of the Hive blockchain, leading the way towards Hive's mass adoption hand in hand with @splinterlands, @threespeak, @actifit and many others.
Over the past few weeks I have been very active on Twitter and Reddit trying to promote Leo Finance and let other crypto-space potential users hear about Hive and Leo, and I have found that one of the main trends in crypto is Layer1 foundations and official entities pushing their second layer dapps out there and backing them, providing trust and strength in numbers (users).
The Layer1 Blockchains know that the dapps built on top of them are the best selling point, and they understand that by showcasing the use-cases the blockchain provides, they allow natural, organic growth for the blockchain itself while giving space for the dapps to grow, both in userbase and token price.
The Hive Blockchain and its whole ecosystem is underrated as hell, and I believe that at some point, our token and our blockchain will be where it belongs - first as part of the Top100 like we once were, and ultimately as a Top10 coin in terms of Market Cap and user base. That is why I am investing in Hive once again by buying 18k Hive a couple of weeks ago, and it is why I am involved as much as I can and do my part towards mass adoption.
A win for @splinterlands is a win for Hive. A victory for @threespeak or @ragnarok.game means that Hive as a blockchain gets more recognition and development trust. A milestone achieved for @leofinance should mean a milestone achieved for our overall community, and the whole Hive ecosystem.
Synergy works better for everyone
I know this might have been discussed several times, both in private channels and in public, perhaps even as part of in-blockchain discussions, and perhaps all the intricacies and details about why this is not happening at a formal level have been stated, but I still want to put the idea on the table.
Hive is a decentralized blockchain, there is no central entity that makes the decisions, that takes the chain towards personal goals, and everyone works towards bettering the ecosystem following their own ideas. But there is still some leadership on Hive, and there are many accounts, communities and entities that hold enough influence that, provided we all worked together and push this dapp synergy, could take Hive and all the dapps that are part of our ecosystem to the next level, the level where we all belong, both as Hive and as Layer2 applications built on top of the most underrated blockchain out there.
I've seen @3speak evangelists, @actifit activists, @threespeak stewards, @leofinance ambassadors and much more, but I am still yet to see dapp synergy working towards the same goals, empowered by Hive itself acting as spearhead and pushing the blockchain's usability and versatility towards the massive crypto community made of potential Hive users.
I know Hive politics are complicated, and I don't intend to rally everyone behind this idea, but I also understand that the concept is simple: If a Dapp thrives, Hive succeeds.
This is just some mumbo jumbo in the middle of the night, I will give this idea a deep thought in the upcoming days and will come back with a more concrete concept of how this synergy could work out, and how much it will benefit the general Hive ecosystem but, in the meantime, I just wanted to put this though on the table and see if there is any feedback that might help me think this through.
POSH does attempt a little bit of synergy by enabling more and more front-ends to be eligible to earn posh by being shared on Twitter. We recently added direct 3speak links to videos and splintertalk front-end to it (yet to be announced) and hoping to do more in the future. Unfortunately posh is still very undervalued in terms of speculators buying in/delegating to earn or others than a handful buying tokens off the very illiquid markets. It is mainly myself and poshtoken buying up tokens so far which is a bit sad considering its idea is to support traffic to all frontends on hive yet not many are wanting to incentivize sharers more by increasing the price of the token or curating comments of good shares.
POSH is doing an amazing job by encouraging users to reach out in traditional social media like Twitter (is reddit sharing still a thing?). I think the layer2 markets suffer a lot during the bears, but hopefully with more use-cases being implemented on a set basis, more people will see the value of $posh and all the other tokens. I've seen the larynx market and damn, one can dominate with just a few hive, and let's not talk about sportstalk and other niche tokens that have little demand. Hopefully once BTC drives the bull wave, hive will jump in, and then we'll see activity on those L2 tokens that are worthy like posh, larynx, leo and the others.
It is sad to see such little market activity, which is why I do believe that synergy between dapps (and the users realizing about it, and thus jumping in the hype train, both with time and by reaching out to potential users, but also with letting their wallet speak for themselves) is so important. Good days ahead, I've never been more bullish on Hive.
Afaik all those dApps you mentioned are layer 1. Splinterland was made well before leofinance. If at all it was hive engine the level 2 for the splinterland tokens like SPS and Dec. Maybe I'm wrong but this is how I remember it.
The layer1 is the hive blockchain, right? All these dapps built on top of hive are L2, which makes their tokens be a L2 reward system. But maybe I have it all confused.
Hive Blockchain is L1 and served all the other dApps including Hive (the blogging dapp). However the smart tokens never launched on the Hive Blockchain and was served on Hive-Engine which could be perceived as L2. But all those other dApps are on top of Hive-Engine, not leofinance.
You know that because you can see it on the explorer from hive engine.

Yeah man. Of the little I understand of this very very very hiper mega super complex ecosystem, I can imagine a masive Dapp, call it hive-tiktok or hive-angrybirds, will take the blockchain to the next level. I think I understand though Hive is scalable, in this precise moment it wouldn'd support a massive use, but will do at its time. Its an important issue this you are putting on the table. Keep it on!
