As far as rewards, I say let them fall where they may. If short form content captures the most users and attention then it deserves the rewards.
If we build a large and strong community on HIVE, I think we will be able to have more say in rewards, but for now, we need to fall in line with the culture and current power structure of HIVE . . otherwise our users would suffer from unnecessary flagging and their rep scores would also be affected.
Unfortunately people have a sense of "fairness" that doesn't exist anywhere... and probably never will on Hive either. A Kardashian can post a photo of their ass with a strategically placed product in the background and earn far more money than someone publishing a research paper encapsulating three years of work that makes advances in treating and curing cancer. That's life.
