I so agree. @guiltyparties and @hivewatchers are behind this @spaminator bot. What they call dusting... I call downvote spamming. And @daniella619 is right... this is quite annoying (like a house fly) and if you were, for example, someone new to Hive... This could be downright detrimental. We don't want to keep this sort of bot buzzing around Hive. It's not conducive to a friendly Hive. There are so many better way's that we could curb unwanted behaviors on our Blockchain... It's time we all put our foot down and made a stand for something better.
Just my 2 cents.
If you need help getting this downvote off your back... please let the community know and we will all work towards that end...

How can we help? The only ones who deserve this are scammers and spammers!
What we need is an advocate. Someone like @apshamilton. How @GuiltyParties wants to conduct things isn’t in the least way friendly. He wants people who have not signed any agreements when they became owners on Hive and who have not signedUP for a Discord account to go over to the @HiveWatchers Discord and go through whatever hoops and loops they lay out for people to go through.
So what we need is an advocate who can go in our stead and set things straight...
This is only a temporary fix!
I’ll include a link to one of @theycallmedan’s posts where I leave my thoughts (in the comments) about how we can fix this for good within the blockchains organizational code. The answer is a systemic on that makes use of our DPOS.

I've been so swamped with debugging my own properties the past 3 weeks that has sort of came first. What you own and operate comes first, so I feel bad I have not put out my procedural proposal yet.
We're supposed to embrace and innovate with the technology, it is supposed to be decentralized and there are a lot of efforts to centralize and @guiltyparties is absolutely doing this along with others. Hivewatchers is a PR and legal fiasco waiting to happen. Someone will abuse their power, it will eventually get in the hands of activists on Twitter and it goes straight to mainstream media outlets to degrade crypto. That's the real risk.
Decentralization and policing on the technology and tribal side is the only way we're going to get there. Much like there is local, state, and federal policing... there needs to be scope of control on each level.
Farming as abuse is something dictated by the oligopoly, not the community at large, in the individual tribes or technology creators or even as dictated by the Hive Terms of Service.
Hivewatchers can be reformed in a way to prevent criminal activities from taking place on the platform, we know what they are but they have to be defined in an SOP and that is to be their limited scope.
Where is Hivewatchers current SOP? There's none.
Tribe owners and community members know their subject matter best and can patrol their communities better as they have tribal interests. They can spot the plagiarism that they don't like, they can kick thin content creators to the curb, and if they want to keep things more exclusive - they can. Don't like a particular tribe/technology, cool... create your own. @Aggroed has resources that can you get on the right path. (I know I need to get around to creating a particular project using Hive-Engine and I don't want the cartel trying to kneecap it.)
OCD was one of the BIGGEST MISTAKES within Hive. It is not politically correct to say to admit this, but it is true. It is a centralization of content, it is content accepted by those wielding power. You better kiss the feet of those in power because they have the ability to make or break you here. Otherwise, you better be writing about how "Crypto is the future and here's why..." every day to karma farm. So for all the decentralization talk, if you support OCD, you're not for decentralization.
I saw the comment from @apshamilton about the dustings, which is interesting and my observation is that a dusting results in less engagement because the content is deemed as spam/dangerous by the community because of the massive amount of trust put into @spaminator and Hivewatchers. Upvote bots whether we like them or not play a massive role in dictating our attention to content created, they don't upvote when a piece of content is "dusted."
If you think Spaminator is an issue, they also have the ultimate cancelling bot in their disposal ("a-d-m", but remove the dashes and put an @ in front)... they can wipe out small/medium HP users with EASE. Might as well cash out and create a new account if that hits you.
There's a better way here. Maybe we have to stop distributing HIVE directly and force everything into tribes and side-chain tokens that can be exchanged so that there is more control on a niched level?
I might have another solution? Guiltyparties is involved with a mutual project with you and I and another friend - maybe a mediator would work? I happen to know one that both of you like and respect :) A certain pirate captain :) ...
I have talked to @guiltyparties about this a number of times and he keeps saying it is just a problem with the bot and it will get fixed. @brittandjosie is a matriarch of Hive, one of its oldest and most respected members. Clearly something is wrong.
May I suggest that you and others who are concerned about this just create your own bot to follow @spaminator's dust downvotes with dust upvotes and an appropriate message with actions that people who are unhappy with the behavior of the spaminator account can take.
Yeah! It has been heaps of work... but I can't think of anything else I would rather be doing right now... and the day's have been absolutely flying by! 🙂

No! It’s not to late to join the #CometCrew and begin #CometWeek missions! If you check the main post “#CometWeek HQ” it has a count down on it (if viewed via the @peakd front end) Thats exactly how much time you have left to participate!
To answer you second question...
#CometWeek is a special surprise event! Although @Comet.Ranker is operational daily and it will be possible to report Comet Missions after #CometWeek but these will not be subject to the UPcoming 2,000 Hive reward. You will still be able to earn Comet Points accumulating on Hive Engine!
When will be the next #CometWeek?
You’ll have to keep your eye on the stars to know that!

I have to be honest... Weekends are really hard for me to juggle! Family things take center stage! I just got back from taking my girls to the beach! We did an hour or so of walking there and back. Then spent a good 2 or 3 hours beachin in the sun and sand... by the time I got the girls back, showered, fed, napped... whew! This Comet Ranker is buuuussssyy! It's 11:41pm and I'm just now gettin UP to speed...

I loved every min. of my time at the beach with my girls... But I also have everything else pulling on my heart! I love what I'm doing here! So yeah! I keep finding creative ways to dig in and get time to keep things going!

I have setUP Tokens for WIN, HIGHFIVE, and now COMET. I think every time I go through the process it just gets easier and easier. I think it's just amazing that in a couple clicks I can have my own custom Crypto Currency Token! It's like Internet Money Magic! hahaha!
If your thinking of settingUP a token just log into Hive Engine and before you know it you'll be sucked down the rabbit hole! But for the most part it's super easy... and if you ever get stuck the guys at Hive Engine have a Discord and though they are a serious bunch they are helpful and know their $hit!

Well... The sooner the better! I don't think that someone would claim RYZE as the Token ticker... That's unlikely... However if someone did they would have to be an enemy doing so intentionally... But it's still something integral to your brand. I would jump on it! But that's just me! 😝
You were right, I could definitely claim the token, but I'm leaning more towards founding my own blockchain so I wouldn't need to claim it on the Hive chain anyway. Squatting/claiming tickers can't hurt though, so... Who knows, food for thought, I always act when inspired, so we'll see :) ty! 🙏

So first one for today😉I was tagged in a post by @frost77 who I have been following for a couple of weeks now. The tag was due to the sharing of more pics of the Rockies that I had asked for lol! Their article rough day really touched me. They have a lot on their plate at the moment and are using writing as a catharsis and a means to express their current emotional state. I have upvoted the post with 100% voting power and reached back to lend a supportive ear and asked whether they had considered certain options that may be available to them.❓
Just an added thought... I am finding that curation using the comet method provides a really great intrinsic circular feedback system too because not only am I being more considered and thoughtful in my responses in the comments to others but I am at the same time examining my own comments and explaining / summarising back here in comet's world, the meaning in and behind my engagement. It provides an additional reality check for me and sometimes whilst updating the comet post, I find myself going back to my original comment to clarify or add something of more significance that my own self analysis has revealed is lacking. It really is insightful!
I don't really understand how comet works
Have a read of the comet white paper on the comet week post by @comet.ranker. You can also find it hereIt's quite detailed but explains it really well. Or you can read the comet week post which also explains what to do or @wil.metcalfe 's own posts on comet week launch in his blog. Have a read through and if you're still confused, I am sure either Wil, myself or someone else can summarise the salient points. Essentially comet points are about curating the posts of others in a meaningful and engaging way: so upvote, write a meaningful comment, either making a statement❗, asking a question ❓, curating the comments on the post using comet ranking ie: you read all the comments first, decide which ones you like and then rank them in order of how you like them starting with your fave. then you upvote all the comments that you like using 100% voting power, in the order in which you like them🔺There were a couple of other ways to earn comet points in comet week but these are the ones to use outside of comet week. Once you have done your curation, you report that curation back to @comet.ranker by commenting on @comet.ranker's most recent post (not blog) with the following info. Name of author, link to their article, brief summary of your curation and the relevant emoji in red to categorise your curation action. Each curated article reported back in this way to @comet.ranker will be awarded a proportion of a comet point which will be credited directly to your Hive chain wallet. They have no monetary value as yet but will be used for purposes still to be disclosed by @wil.metcalfe , all in good time. Trust the process. It really works wonderfully.

All you need to do is comment on that post and then come back to @Comet.Ranker’s most recent post to report your mission. Just include the name of the author, a link back to the ⭕️ Target post to indicate which of the targeted posts you commented on and a little about the post and or your comment. Oh! And of course include the “⭕️” red emoji! Simple as that!
As well! It should be mentioned that any of the above mentioned Comet Missions could be also given a “❤️” Favourite by @Comet.Ranker if it’s of exceptional quality and care!
All the other Comet Missions will be granted 0.01 Comet Token. ❤️ Favourite Missions however will grant the #CometCrew member 1 complete Comet Token!

I'm trying to figure out the best method of delivery, so that I can draw in the largest audiences.
That's a tricky one. Perhaps tagging in a few communities that are relevant is the best approach. You could try promoting your post too. The more people that reblog, the wider potential audience you will reach too. You could also put links to your short stories at the bottom of each of your posts to promote them. I have seen a number of people list a selection of their material at the bottom of each post on a regular basis. Best of luck!

That’s a very good question! As Comet Tokens are currently unassigned to completed Comet Mission there isn’t really a way to have them work as entires for the #CometWeek Rewards pools... that being said... I do have something special in mind for them and I’m sure people will want to hold onto their COMET. ☄️ 😉

The author shares their vulnerability and emotions with the reader in discussing something very personal to them. Solitude as loneliness and how this is experienced and managed and how it was further impacted with covid lockdown. A very thoughtful and insightful piece of writing that deserves to be read. It truly did. My dad was alone through covid lockdown, 10,000 km away from his adult children. We had only just lost our Mom in early 2019 so the timing was not great. To make things worse, he had to endure the recent riots in South Africa too. So your story really hit home. I also have colleagues and friends who live alone who have found lockdown incredibly alienating and lonely and I have felt relatively helpless as legislation has prevented in person contact. I called my dad daily throughout the past 2 years and made sure I touched base on calls and texts with my single friends as much as possible during this time. Even being part of a 4 person family household, I missed the connections with my family and friends tremendously. Thank you for opening up and sharing this with us all.

So I think I am doing this right. With comet week concluded, i have picked the most recent @comet.ranker post to post a comet comment and link. I have just read @bluefinstudios Garden Refresh Planting where they show the wonderful veg they are growing at the moment and the new seedlings going in for the new season. I loved all the colourful pics and info shared and most of what they grew this year is what I grew last year successfully too, and the concept of growing my own food resonated with me😋😍I upvoted the post 100% voting power and commented on the post, shared my own experience last year and this and asked a question on how they grow their seedlings as mine struggled this year. ❓They have a ton of posts in their grovid archive so I am looking forward to working my way through these :-)

By the way... #CometWeek might be over but that doesn’t mean that it’s not possible to report Comet Missions to the most recent @Comet.Ranker post. Everything’s done in the exact same way and parts of a Comet Token (0.01) are awarded for missions complete! 👍
If someone does an exceptional job with their commenting or comment ranking it may still be recognized with a ❤️ Favourite Badge which is 1 whole Comet Point!
As a note... during #CometWeek missions yield 1 entire Comet Token so that’s pretty sweet for anyone who decides to participate! ☄️

Yup! I would like to see something productive from them. Sure... You can say your securing and securitizing the blockchain... But in actuality... What if the way your doing things is actually causing more harm than the things you are attempting to snuff out! This is a serious consideration and as a unit I think the entire community needs to come together to make it known exactly what sort of social environment/culture we want as Hive Owners of this blockchain! I, for one, am making it clear with @Comet.Ranker and #CometWeek that downvote spam is not ok and we simply can not expect good things to happen here while implementing these sorts of measures systemically.
One thing is sure to me... We need to be better than all the other social2.0's out there if we want to keep the people we worked so hard to bring here. Every person is invaluable and how we treat our own really does matter!
