A Sneak Peak of Dapplr Editors and Image Filters

Hello, We hope everyone is well and staying safe at home. We want to share some updates about content editors. Content editor is the core of the application and people would want to post more if the content editor is good and provides a seamless experience. Well, the content editor development is still in progress and we wanted to share a sneak preview of the editor to keep the community updated. We will let you watch the video now…

Frontend Progress -

The whole team brainstormed like crazy and brought some really great ideas and features (which will be taken up in the future). The discussion ended up with two editors one where a user can just upload the media files e.g Images, videos along with a text description. This basic mode is also known as Media mode.
The second editor is the full content editor, where users will be able to write and format their content with an addition of uploading media files such as images and videos. This is for people who are really into writing great content with very disciplined formatting.

Design Progress -

1. Content editing page is done.
2. Buttons animations on content editor page.

Back-end Progress -

1. Media upload API has been completed.
2. Discussions around the cloud services and their costs.

Difficulties

Content editors are not well supported in mobile devices and there is no support of complex markdown renders in Flutter so we are making changes in the core parser to parse the content from blockchain and shoot it to the user. It is still under progress and we will keep you updated.

Filters
We want to provide the best content editor experience and that’s why we have include at least the basic tools in the Media editor to modify the image assets with filters. It took us some time and it’s now integrated inside the basic editor.

ToDos -

We are still working on the content parsing and we didn’t really want to give this a lot of time because it would stop the development of other core features. So we are developing the core functionalities along with the research work on the content parser.

1. Handling Complex markup on Content Detail Page.
2. Adding Reblog and Gift action button in the homepage.
3. Beneficiaries details.
4. Content form to post on the blockchain.
5. Integrating the seamless animations throughout the editor.

The Dapplr team is working very hard to help the community deliver its First Design Based Application and we have been working for more than two months. We need your support to cover our expenses and help this community build an application that will stand out from any Social media user interface. We are not asking for much, it’s only 30 HBD / day, just so that at least 50% of daily expenses could be covered.
