1. A Good Tool To Use
I recently pieced together an article that I wanted to publish here on the PEAKD writing platform. However, I didn't want to publish it until the end of this month at night. Therefore, I decided to give the "Schedule" feature on my PEAKD channel a try.
You cannot use this feature automatically. You actually have to go into your settings to turn on this feature before you use it. Well, that's what I did. It was much easier than I had thought.
After I finished my article, I clicked on the "Save" icon to make sure that everything in my article was updated. Then I clicked on the "Schedule" icon, and it brought me to a screen that displayed a date and a time that I could schedule the article to be published.
I went ahead and clicked where the date was, and a calendar appeared before me. I selected December 31, 2024 as the date I wanted to schedule for my article to be published here on my PEAKD channel. Then I clicked on the time and selected a time that I wanted it all to happen on that same date.
2. Modifications To An Article After The Fact
You are probably wondering what to do after you have scheduled your article to be published on your PEAKD channel, if you want to make changes in your article. Do not worry. All you have to do is click on the pencil symbol at the top of your screen. A drop-down menu will appear. Then click on "View Scheduled Posts."
Your scheduled article will appear before you, and it will give you the option of reverting to the rough draft of the article. You click that icon to do so, and then your scheduled article will disappear from your computer.
Here is where you're going to have to click on the pencil symbol again; and once the drop-down menu appears, you'll need to click on "View Drafts." After doing so, your scheduled article will appear before you on your computer screen. Then you click the "Edit" icon and it will take you into the edit page so that you can make your changes.
When you want to schedule your edited article to be published at a certain time on a certain date, then you repeat the entire process all over again. At first, it took me a little getting used to; but once you've done it so many times, it will come to you naturally.
3. Final Thoughts
Composing an article or even any kind of post here on the PEAKD writing platform is an ongoing learning process. The more articles and comments you post, the more you'll find yourself learning along the way.
I post these how-to articles of mine now and then to educate newcomers here on the PEAKD writing platform so that they can spend more time composing their prose and less time figuring out how to handle the technical aspects of it.
I don't believe that the other decentralized writing platforms like Steemit and Blurt.com have this same feature, but don't hold me to it. I haven't been on those two platforms in quite a while. I just know that I need to learn those technical skills on the PEAKD writing platform whenever the opportunity presents itself to me.
