One way or the other, everything from here on will be historical. For years we've waited for large updates to be coded by one company and then handed to the witnesses to run. Now, we have built our new home on the web.
A lot has happened over the past few weeks. Nobody will agree with every decision that have been made. Few, if any, will be happy with everything. But one thing is certain, we now have more opportunities than ever before, less excuses and a hell of momentum and attention.
I expect the next few days/weeks to be intense and for more mistakes to be made. But it feels great to be able to make them together. We now have a new foundation, and boy am I looking forward to adding things to it!

It sure is! I can't recall seeing this much energy and desire from an early stage community ever. I will have some work to do rebranding steempress, but when that's done we will finally be able to launch so much that has been in the pipelines for a while.
steempress was one out of three witnesses to code the Hive hardfork, so it then feels strange to still have a steem-basedname :P
There is a lot of momentum behind us right now. I fervently hope we carry that forwards. Now that Ned, Dan, Steemit, Inc., Justin Sun, etc. are out of the picture, we need to keep eyes on the prize and not revert to blaming anyone for anything.
I don't want to see this place devolve into the juvenile drama that often happened on Steem. I suppose it's inevitable that people will complain about "whales and witness' greed, etc." and some toxicity is just part of life. But I really feel hopeful that we can create a new-feeling space here, especially once the kinks are ironed out and we start onboarding lots of new users bringing new energy that don't know about all the baggage, haha.
That is pretty awkward for many blockchain services, the rebranding. It will be funny in the future if people are using Hive that know nothing about the past history asking "Why are all these accounts named with 'Steem'? What's that, anyways?" :-D

I am anxious for the new "HivePress"!
We were one of three witnesses to code the new hardfork, of course we are also thrilled by it! There will be an updpate to the plugin, which should now be posting to Hive, as well as a rebrand.
Yeah, I read it in Discord. I hope to resume my curation project soon, obviously on HIVE!
