conviction :

1. The right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief 1, better known

   fundamental of every human being. As a universal human right, freedom of religion or religion
   conviction guarantees respect for diversity. Its free exercise contributes directly to
   democracy, development, the rule of law, peace and stability. Violations of religious freedom
   or persuasion can exacerbate intolerance and are often early indicators of violence
   potential and conflicts.
2. All persons have the right to manifest their religion or belief, either individually or together
   with others, both in public and in private, through worship, the performance of rites, practices and teaching, without
   fear of intimidation, discrimination, violence or attacks. People who change or give up
   religion or belief, as well as adherents of non-theistic or atheistic beliefs
   people who do not profess a religion or belief should also be protected.
3. Violations or abuses against freedom of religion or belief, committed by both actors
   both state and non-state, are widespread and complex and affect people in all parts of the world,
   including from Europe.
