Fork Us, Fix us

I got a comment on my post yesterday and someone talked about HBD and how it often seems to depeg when Hive takes a dip and yeah, I worry about that too, but my biggest worries is how we're not being innovative enough with the things are aiming to ship with our hard fork, for me.

I don't really care if the HBD's APR is at 2% or 1% my only concern is the greater good; stopping the tokenomics of Hive from leaking. The reason is basically because fixing this creates a sort of confidence in potential investors.

Inasmuch as the current price is a general reflection of the market, the aim isn't to pump Hive artificially, the aim is to make potential and pre-existing investors to keep believing.

I spoke with a whale about 6 months ago, and he told me that he wasn't worried about the price of Hive, and he was only worried about the DHF and the inactivity of the witnesses.

However, I also know a guy who was a small orca, but I checked their account today and they already a whale, wow. I guess they took advantage of the market dump, or probably held some HBD, new whales or orcas are made everyday, but we're also losing some too.

It's a normal thing to gain and lose, but I think it's just about time we deal with the DHF ninja mined thingy and tweak our token economy and let the market do the rest.

It's really not hard. The community is there, everything is there, just that tiny fix is all we need. In reality, no one knows the current situation of the market, whether it's the beginning of a bear (highly the case) or some price manipulation from the white house, no one cares actually, I think the biggest care is fixing our ecosystem with the right fork and changes.

For one, I truly wish is not the actual start of the bear market, I wish we could get a massive change overall and maybe pump in Q3 or Q4, but it's unlikely and since this is the case.

We should be trying to fix the system to prepare to take advantage of when the market is going to pump again, be it in two years or 3 years. We tend to understand how big of a blockchain we actually are, and how the most intentional hardwork can actually turn the ecosystem to a powerhouse that can power useful L2s.

Leo finance seemed to try their best, but I guess the founder fell off with the Hive faithful and man has been looking for another chain to launch the Leo product, unfortunately it's not easy to do that and that's why the product is still on Hive. This is also one of the reasons why splinterlands is still on Hive.

Modern day crypto founders are criminals

A Hive guy actually pushed a supposed "billion dollar" project called MAGIC NEWTON saying it was the next ethereum and all that, but guess what? After raising $80M the project is now in the toilet.

There are no places like Hive to build on, it's all scam 90% of the time out there, only OG projects are actually standing, and that's what we are; a flagship layer zero with one of the best ecosystems out there. So it's think we actually fix this place.

Sort:

Dhf sure needs a rework, who gets funded should deliver details on what's paid with the budget, and afte a while self sustain... Dhf can't be a forever milking

Unfortunately we only talk and chances are never done. I wonder why no one in top 20 witnesses consider the DHF milking a thing of emergency

It's complicated, and we can point fingers in many directions, and one toward ourselves too... Could we have prevented this from happening if we spoke out earlier? Maybe, maybe not...

And regarding whales and orcas, I don't find that an issue at all... As a matter of fact, the best thing that could happen to HIVE is that we get new whales, new fresh blood, and see some leaving... It's a normal thing to expect, and to happen... As one of the biggest HIVE whales recently said, "We had our chance, and ruined it... Maybe it's time to give leadership to someone else..."

Tbh, seeing that MATURE way of thinking and reasoning gave me more hope than some shiny, sweet blogpost about HIVE going to $10...

As one of the biggest HIVE whales recently said, "We had our chance, and ruined it... Maybe it's time to give leadership to someone else..."

This.

However that process takes governance changes, and to change governance DPOS might need to change or maybe the biggest stakeholders starts channeling their votes towards somewhere else, maybe more free blood.

However, we can start somewhere as little as the DHF, and begining making changes from there, I don't know how long we need to say it, before they begin to take action

we can start somewhere as little as the DHF

That's the spirit! "little" 😃

It's a honey pot of many... But, let's try to stay positive... It will be a tough battle, but hopefully, people will become more reasonable...

It's tough, but I do agree that the DHF needs some work. I don't think it's holding people accountable for the funds they get right now. It makes me wonder just how far down Hive has to go before they start acknowledging that its an issue.
