We've all heard the phrase "time is money," and I'm here to illustrate exactly what that means on HIVE. What can you achieve with just 1 hour per week on HIVE to earn an income? Your initial instinct might be to create content since HIVE is a social network blockchain, right? Well, it used to be that way, but it's evolving. Ask someone who joined through Splinterlands, and they'll tell you it's a gaming blockchain. Inquire with a dTube enthusiast, and they'll tell its a video platform, HIVE encompasses many facets, and it's our community—me and you—that shapes its destiny.

The beauty of a decentralized network like HIVE is that I, alongside you and others, have a say in the blockchain's future. The HIVE hack is if you can add value, you will be rewarded. Let's look at how I built something that adds a little value to HIVE for those interested in investment tokens.

How SPinvest Revolutionized the Landscape

I personally sought to invest my HIVE in an investment fund hosted on Hive-Engine, but it simply didn't exist. I speculated that others might share the same desire, so I birthed SPinvest and SPI tokens.

SPI tokens marked the first of their kind on Steem-Engine/Hive-Engine—deemed authentic investment tokens, actively managed and transparent via weekly reports. Today, we're spoiled for choice with investment tokens, and the investment token asset class on Hive-Engine is valued at over $1 million. This achievement is noteworthy, especially considering the bear market's harsh reality—where most assets plummeted by 80%. Just five years ago, when SPinvest emerged, the investment class value on Hive-engine was a humble $0.

With or without SPinvest, it's likely that someone else would have introduced a backed fund eventually. BROfund drew inspiration and now stands as the second-largest fund on Hive-Engine. EDS is the best-yielding HIVE income token but other solid projects like INCOME are out there and we're invested.

How You Can Influence the Game

Simply replicate what I've done and tweak it to make it your own. Nothing SPinvest does is new, it's just not on HIVE yet when we release things. Do you aspire to churn out content daily for the next decade to secure a HIVE income? Many struggle to sustain quality content and quickly burn out after getting weak results. Instead, consider a smarter, long-term approach and build something that enriches others while ensuring an excellent work-to-reward ratio for yourself.

In a decade, I envision earning more HIVE while exerting less effort. This is the mindset you should adopt as you sow seeds. While some seeds demand more attention than others, if nurtured into fruition, the yield can be substantial.

Your task is to conceptualize an investment akin to one you'd entrust your money to for a decade. On HIVE, the possibilities are endless. HIVE can be leased to numerous projects offering rewards; HBD yields a 20% annual return, and there exist at least 10 decent investment tokens that could be amalgamated into a comprehensive index-style token. Investment tokens could underpin gaming NFTs, actively managed, or even non-HIVE assets like DeFi.

Let me showcase a project that consumes roughly 1 hour per week to maintain. This is how I utilize one hour instead of crafting a post that garners minimal traction and reward.

EDS

This project operates under SPI as a HIVE income token. The EDS token, pegged to 1 HIVE, disburses a weekly HIVE income to token holders. Currently boasting an APY of over 25%, it stands as the highest-yielding token that directly pays income as HIVE on Hive-Engine.

Maintaining this project is remarkably simple, requiring a maximum of 45 minutes per week. Approximately 15 minutes entail executing transactions, while the remaining 30 minutes are allocated to crafting the weekly report. Here's the weekly routine:

• Convert all Hive-Engine tokens into swap.hive.
• Transfer swap.hive from Hive-Engine to @eddie-earner account.
• Update numbers for EDS circulating, HP balance, HP inflation APY, content rewards, leasing income, and other income in an Excel sheet.
• Send HIVE to @spi-payments for income payments.
• Power up the remaining HIVE.
• Draft the EDS report post template, incorporating charts, a 500-word write-up, and upload.
• Check back on comments the next day and do replies.
• And that wraps up the week!

In essence, EDS contributes 59,750 HIVE to SPI's balance sheet. If we divide 59,750 by 115 (EDS reports) and we're saying EDS takes 1 hour per week to operate, the per hour return for SPI from EDS has been 520 HIVE. Can you tell me of another way to earn over 500 HIVE for less than an hour of work a week?

I urge you to ponder: what could EDS be worth under you you? If you were to replicate these projects' success, consider compensating yourself with tokens or a 10% operating fee, respectively. The potential rewards for doing what others dont are uncapped.
