What Would Make You Want To Buy HIVE?

in #hive2 days ago

Hello SPIers, It's been a few months since SPI has released or upgraded a project. As always, I have lots of ideas but lack the incentive to put the work in for small results.

One of the most important things for me when im thinking about a new project/token is not how many people will buy into it but how much people will buy into it. This is why we've never opened up the SPI hardcap and released a SPI2 token to raise more money and grow the fund. What's the point of spending weeks setting it all up and promoting to collect $5-10k more in funding?

People think they missed the boat because it's a 5-year-old project and already made its gains. WRONG!!!

Do you think im sitting on some yacht living off the dividends? lol. In the long game, 5 years is nothing, its a good start.

We're only at the start of SPIs 2nd bullrun. We launched on STEEM and had profits but when we moved to HIVE, we revalued the token to 1 HIVE and did a token split to bring the hardcap to 100k. In those 4 years, the token value has done a 6x in HIVE and 10x in dollar value.

SPI Fund Value Tops and Bottoms

2020 bottom (post HIVE hardfork) = $38k
2021 top = $497k

2024 bottom = $98k
2025 top = $???

You still think if you buy SPI today, you're late and will not make money?

It's not even about increasing the fund value, everyone makes money in a bullrun. The trick is preserving some profit when times are good so you can invest when times are bad. SPI pulled about $30k out into stables during Feb 2022 and it has all gone now into investments but this is a big reason why the fund bottom for this cycle is 3x bigger than last cycle's bottom.

As each cycle passes, I learn more and improve. I plan for SPI to have a 6 figure stable wallet by 2026. Most who follow this account will know that I always set the bar lower and overachieve (it's a self-motivational thing) so when I say we'll have a 6 figure wallet, it's certain in my mind it'll happen.

Sorry, way off track!

I had started to write this post with 1 question but went off-topic.

What would make you want to buy HIVE?

Like buying it from an actual exchange are through something like simpleswap.io

What sort of projects, features, games, investments? What would there need to be on HIVE to make you convert your fiat are other cryptos into HIVE?

Maybe the question should be, Why dont you buy HIVE?

Is it the 13-week powerdown and no liquidity for anything connected to the hive engine? I bet that's it. If I found HIVE in 2024, the 13-week powerdown would be a "c ya later homie" moment. There are plenty of good things on HIVE but it is very hard to get exposure to the right people, right away.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing what answers people write back. Be honest as well, if you feel HIVE is shit and fecked, just say it. Better to be honest compared to be hopeful when it comes to investing.

I first discovered Steem when it was at the top of the market cap lists. I traded it and then learned how to get some by blogging. Then the rush of upvote power had me buying more. Now I would buy Hive if I thought it would move up enough to trade into HBD.

Good question.
Probably if there would be less selling pressure by stupid useless proposals. And if there would be professional marketing.

Actually having an exchange that listed it in the US would be a great first step in my opinion. I'm a long time Hiver and I would totally set up a monthly buy if that were available.

Enjoy your yacht! Think most see the token as rewards instead of something to buy for one. Think the thirteen weeks is another factor. So when you buy it and decide to power it up. Then the question is when do you power it down to sell (some of) it? In the investor view point. Of course Hive Power has it's place too.
