RE: What we do today will weigh heavily in the near future.

That's my point.

Without chat there is no interconnectivity.

To do that with an external system: DISCORD is ridiculous. It's 2020 and this is Blockchain, which is meant to be decentralised so to take conversations onto a platform that is neither is as I said: self defeating.

I'm also not a coder.

What I'm waiting for is the toolset to grow the communities I believe are missing here. Again, I won't do that when the system is so basic. It's like trying to make lemonade with just lemon leaves.

HIVE is no longer steemit. Great.
But what really is Hive?
Still just predominantly rewards for text blogging. With so much patchwork to make it a complete experience. That's just not how you take on mainstream.

I agree with your notion that if it's missing, we're all free to create it. However we aren't all equal. There's only a limited group that can build the fundamentals: CODERS. Until then, others just aren't able to build the platform and assist the user uptake. I'm also very against shilling on twitter and forcing users to become the slave marketing team.

I share your frustrations @teknow.

Patience is a virtue I’ve been confronted with.

For over 12 years, I’ve been waiting for the conditions to enable what Hive is now capable of offering. At the time, blockchain was not even a thing. Look now.

We may not be coders but the world evolves faster now than ever. We may soon see a GPT-3 Hive app assistant allowing you to code from voice recognition. Empowering you and all to let go their creative might. No programmers skill required.

About chat, I know a programmer on Hive that works on chat. Let’s be patient, the World is just waking up and still shaking it’s head in amazement. We have more than we know.

You talk about steemit, I never heard of it before being a Hive user. Few months ago, I was not even aware encrypted chats or Discord existed.

We all have unique skills. I am good at connecting dots. You may be talented in something programmers are not comfortable with, but still is required to make Hive Thrive. We may not be all equal in our skills. Ok. The limited group you mentioned that can build the fundamentals of Hive can also, over time, empower users like me and you so we can contribute to our best capacity. All this takes peer-to-peer encouragement and collaboration. Focus, Time and Patience. The World has not been Free to Create in a long time. It’s only the beginning.

May I invite you to take a look at @ibor ‘s article on focusing on objectives

Hey man well written I like your articulation of the experience of both the industry and the ambitious user. I'm patient also though. I actually have believed that mid 2020s is when this technology will mature and become significant. It's a slow road but what I do find frustrating here is that too many think it's ready for market and expect investors to throw money at it.

Way back since the old days of steemit people have carried a stubborn delusional belief that mass onboarding is just around the corner. Just not the case though and I've made point many times on why. That's then the other negative... people don't like to hear the negatives... what simply is: the hard truth. So again, Hive has some flaws which will need to be addressed before this can be a serious place where a broad range of projects, communities and mass adoption can be reality.

I read your posts and so respect your passion also. Well done. I see that you have grand ideas too that you seek to materialize. This lockdown is a missed opportunity for this technology but as I said the development is slow. There might be more strangeness of the world to come so likely in time the star will align for Blockchain and Hive.
