X or Hive, How about both?

Hello Hive,

If you are a Hiver who is active on X (formerly Twitter), you probably know that I’ve monetized my account and am building the X empire. (lol) It’s been pretty easy to get it up to about $60 a month. While that’s not a lot, it pays for the blue check mark and a few subscriptions on X. This is important not because I love Elon, but I love that he is taking a stand for “Freer Speech”.

But at the same time, I always love Hive and check in often, because Hive is where the real magic happens. Hive is the blockchain and cryptocurrency for Web31, with fast, scalable, and powerful features2. Hive has over 126 decentralized applications and communities3, and is home to some of the most-used Web3 apps in the world, such as Splinterlands, PeakD and InLeo. Hive is also one of the most decentralized blockchains, with no single entity or organization that controls the network2. Hive is awesome, and you know it.

Now, I’ve figured out some of the easy steps to grow your account on X (while monetization is young) and building the account is easy. I think Hivers could unite and help build each other pretty easily. We can use X as a gateway to introduce more people to Hive and its amazing ecosystem.

It’s been my observation that as my account grows, the visibility of the Hiver accounts goes down and many of them are below the viewing line of comments (lightly shadow banned). This is not cool, and we need to change that.

Here are my suggestions for getting more power out of the X posts.

Hive Users follow and support each other, but not exclusively. You can easily build your account by making comments on large accounts threads, especially when the thread is new. I find that if I engage too much with all the same accounts and don’t get out of my network, my account goes a bit stale, like a loaf of bread. So I get out of my common areas and go to new topics. I always get a boost from those comments, like a shot of espresso.

At this stage of the game, I’m averaging about 4M impressions a week, but still only have 3500 followers and engagement on my main posts are growing. I’m up to about 20 new followers a day, but it goes faster and it grows. Like a snowball rolling down a hill. Or a virus spreading in a pandemic. Wait, scratch that last one.
So, follow and engage with Hivers, but make Hive a smaller part of your content. Make a joke, post a meme, run a poll and comment on other topics. That will help your own engagement and also attract more people to Hive. For example, you can post something like this:
What is the best social media platform for Web3?

X
Hive
Facebook
TikTok
Comment your answer and why. I’ll go first: Hive, because it’s fast, scalable, powerful, and awesome. And because I’m a Hiver, and Hivers stick together. #hive #web3 #socialmedia

If we built a large network, the larger accounts can help lift the lower accounts out of shadowland, and we can all benefit from the synergy of X and Hive. Together, we can make a difference and have fun at the same time.

What do you think, Hivers? Are you with me? Let me know in the comments below. And don’t forget to follow me on X and Hive for more tips and tricks on how to grow your social media presence. Cheers! 🥂

I hope you like my suggestion. Feel free to edit it as you wish. Have a great day! 😊

Don't forget to drop your twitter X handle in the comments and let's get started.

I am in full support of this approach

You know, I’ve been skeptical, seeing as how the game has changed on Twitter. I mean hell, we don’t even call it that anymore!

I didn’t really join in on the POSH endeavor, for lack of details and followthrough on my part, but seeing you on X, and thanks to comments of others, I see the merit of cross-promotion.

I tuned in to see you grow your account in real time; I’d see a reply or two here and there. You came a long way before I realized it.

I’m in. I just suck at Tweeting regularly! How do you do it?

My handle on Twitter is: @DTKB_raw. The link in case I don’t come up: https://twitter.com/DTKB_raw

Well tweeting regularly is like posting regularly. I think a few posts a day and maybe 10 comments is plenty to keep growing.

Great approach I would fully support :-)

If we build a large network, the larger accounts can help lift the lower accounts out of shadowland, and we can all benefit from the synergy of X and Hive. Together, we can make a difference and have fun at the same time.

This is cool from you, boss. As a response to this, please tell me what your username, is; I want to follow you right away. And please, boss, how did you get up to 3500 users and how did you monetize that to the extent of $50 per month? If I have that, not only will my life be helped, but others around me will too.

I need to be schooled by you the more boss.

Well done on earning there. I'm not sure what Musk's agenda really is, but he seems happy to drive people away and he's put me off it. I still check in there once a week or so, but it's not a daily site for me any more. I get that we need to promote Hive on other platforms, but I never had great reach and my time is limited.

Enjoy.

Agree but on Hive we have also some people that have the agenda to "drive certain people away" :-) - not judging if these are only the bad ones that should be driven away from Hive and the most known DApp (which is losing a lot of its former reputation outside)

We have some bad attitudes here, but then Hive is open to all. I think the majority have good intentions. It needs to be welcoming to them if it's to grow. Some people will abuse their power and we have to find ways to cope with that.

Stay well.

Hey @uwelang, here is a little bit of BEER from @steevc for you. Enjoy it!

Learn how to earn FREE BEER each day by staking your BEER.

Good to see you Steevc

Likewise :) I vote up Hivers over there even if I don't comment much. Things like the Vibes content can raise our profile.

Vibes sounds really interesting, I hope it rocks! Pun intended!

Hey @whatsup, here is a little bit of BEER from @steevc for you. Enjoy it!

If you like BEER and want to support us please consider voting @louis.witness on HIVE and on HIVE Engine.

It is a little painful watching you grind incessantly on Twitter for $2/day but I try and throw hearts at you when I see the posts. All I use Twitter for is to shill Hive and connect with other Hive folks who do the same.

I'm not suggesting everyone do it, just saying those who are there already could take a slightly different approach and make it go farther! :)

I liked X(Twitter) because I felt that with Elon Musk's stance on freedom of speech, this platform would be a great place to express yourself. But when they suspend your account for, evidently expressing a personal political position, you realize it's a big farce. Even more, when the same platform (Twitter) gives preference to accounts that attack precisely those who are expressing opinions on issues that go against their line of thought. A clear bias to the centers of political and economic dominance.
I still don't know if I will try again to create another Twitter account (for the third time). I am disappointed and I realize that if I do, I will be forced to self-censor myself. What a great success this "freedom of expression" on Twitter. Greetings.

Saludos.

No idea what you are talking there are all types of points of view on Twitter

Hive has many advantages that other social media do not have. Hive doesn't have all the advantages like another social media's. If the advantages of HIVE can be increased then it will rise to the top than all others social sites

There are pros and cons of different types of social media for sure.

I didn't even know one could monetise on X, but that's not surprising since I'm hardly on there. It's least visited social network. I guess if you enjoy the engagement that's the most important thing, and the monetization becomes a very nice bonus

Yep, if it's about the money I'd do better on Hive, but I feel restricted the internal rules.

3500 ! That is a decent amount you have going there, but indeed...the snowball effect works as the algorhythm picks up! That generates way more views than I had expected honestly!

I do a lot of lurking on twitter to be honest, with multiple accounts so I have a lot of different feeds streams (again before the algo takes over)

Keep them both going! It is so different and almost non comparbile with each other

Yeah, it's a very customizable platform and you can create your own experience, by who you talk to and what you talk about

I would be delighted to join you on, The Platform Formerly Known as Twitter Now Formally Known as X!

Just kidding.

But it's nothing personal and I don't have any issues with that platform either. Just don't have it in me anymore. Starting from scratch, knowing what it takes to build those followings and maintain attention spans, then getting to that point where one wonders why and what's all this for? Did it once. Never again lol...

lol, I understand. Funny thing is a created my twitter account back in the day to promote our first platform. :)

I just like not having to be so careful what you say and do.

It's good people are expanding beyond the echo chamber or at least attempting it like you're suggesting here. While everyone was sharing their own posts on twitter to other people from Hive, on twitter, I was sitting here becoming frustrated.

Get one individual with a large following on twitter who's unfamiliar with Hive to pick up a post and then share it to their following that's also unfamiliar with Hive yields actual results.

Like Steevc said about Vibes. Some of those performances have amassed thousands of views on X already and it's only the first week. I wrote articles (years ago!) pointing out how one instance of actual content going viral on the outside makes all the "marketing" efforts seem wasteful and nearly pointless. The articles created all kinds of buzz here, but only now it's really starting to catch on.

Oops! Have I said too much? Do I sound bitter? Will there be "consequences" lol...

Notice how my thoughts wouldn't fit neatly into a twitter box? I do...

LOL, Twitter doesn't have content limits anymore for $8 a month you get more visibility, 10k characters, a blue check mark and Grok, which is a very young and pretty low quality AI. :)

All in fun. And yes viral hits and what we used to call Gorilla Marketing is powerful, but you have to know how.

Not being mean but most of the Hive accounts now look and sound like they are shilling, because they are shilling. If you build and audience, engage in your interests and mention Hive once in a while it's much more effective! ;)

Anyhow, no pressure to those who aren't there or even who are.. Who am I say do things effectively.. :)

Yeah, I wrote a post awhile back talking about how people will pay to work for AI, feeding it the information it needs to remain relevant. Then being paid to recoup those losses is the "incentive" to keep them coming back to feed that artificial mind more and more, as it grows and grows, eventually taking over the world moohoohahahaha lol.

Silly humans. Grok is the perfect name. I never could have predicted that part. Just give it time. They don't stay young for long. Fast learners.

Elon was a bit of an alarmist when it comes to AI for awhile there. For this one he's knows he'll be in control. He also knows people need to feed it new stuff constantly and knows people need an incentive to do that.

Hive should put money into one. That way humanity can always access the artificial mind, but cannot alter it. Rewriting history easily changes the future. That data needs to be decentralized. I'd call it an Open-minded AI™

Shit. I probably just sound like I'm shilling Hive lol

Firstly, I’m glad to know that you are earning on X and I hope you continue to go harder. I think I should also give it a try to see if I can also begin to earn like you
Kudos to you!

Thanks, it's still pretty easy and that likely will not always be the case.

hahahaha, if we cross out the pandemic hahahaha, I am one more of your followers from today, I joined the panel 4 years ago, motivated by a great friend @galberto, I like the panel and what makes me feel best is having some friends, few, but they are always there for me and vice versa, it is the most important thing for me.
My way of thinking is : A person can hurt me, but the friendship I have with some users will NOT It could ruin it, that will never happen, I get the money from my work in marketing and I'm doing very well thank GOD

Thanks you so much my friends, it is a nice place to see you here.
We love it.

Feliz día mi querido amigo .
Dios te bendiga
