After all, nature is interestingly arranged. For example, an elephant, in order to reach full adulthood, must grow at least twenty years, almost like a person. It's the same with whales and other large mammals – everyone has to mature, gain experience and eventually fully enter life. Large birds and even reptiles are subject to the same rule. Butterflies are another matter. In fact, this creature spends most of its life as a caterpillar and larva. That is, at first it eats a lot of everything in a row, overgrowing with fat, crawling along the branches and leaves of plants, bringing total harm. And only for a very short period, this potbellied clumsy creature seems to blossom, becomes light and winged, causing universal delight of others with its whole appearance. I suddenly thought that if humans had just such a metabolism, we would be very different from the creatures that we really are. Although, if you think carefully, there are a number of people who lead the life of butterflies. It seems to them that the whole world was created only for them, and they are the center of the entire universe. These people could consider themselves the masters of life, but if you look at them carefully, they have nothing but an empty and beautiful shell inside. Truly, a sad sight, isn't it...
Всё-таки природа интересно устроена. Например слон, чтобы достичь полного взросления, должен расти не менее двадцати лет, почти как человек. То же самое у китов и других крупных млекопитающих – каждый должен созреть, набраться опыта и в конце концов полноправно вступить в жизнь. Этому же правилу подвержены крупные птицы и даже рептилии. Другое дело – бабочки. По сути, большую часть жизни это существо проводит в роли гусеницы и личинки. То есть, сначала оно очень много ест всё подряд, обрастая жирком, ползая по веткам и листьям растений, принося собой тотальный вред. И лишь на очень короткий период это пузатое неповоротливое существо как бы расцветает, становится лёгким и крылатым, всем своим видом вызывая всеобщий восторг окружающих. Я вдруг подумал, что если бы у людей был именно такой метаболизм, мы бы сильно отличались от существ, коими являемся на самом деле. Хотя, если хорошо подумать, есть ряд людей, кто ведёт жизнь бабочек. Им кажется, что весь мир создан лишь для них, а они – центр всей Вселенной. Эти люди могли бы считать себя хозяевами жизни, но если посмотреть на них внимательно, ничего кроме пустой и красивой оболочки внутри у них нет. Поистине, печальное зрелище, не правда ли...
