I'm back to share a development update on Inkito (alpha version). I've been working hard on some new features for the last few days...
You can read more about it in my Hive proposal in which I explain all of it.
But what is Inkito ?
Inkito is a new platform based on the Hive blockchain build specifically for the long form episodic content like comics or novels. It makes the reading experience better with an infinite loop and organises content as series throughout the site.
So here is what's new!
- A zoom feature
As suggested by @bryan-imhoff I added a side button to zoom in or out of content. It is true that comics have very different formats and some splash pages require to take a step back... Let's see how that looks.
A very interesting part in term of design. I think the selected spot is not too intrusive. The banner retracts when the content is clicked or the user begins scrolling.
The feature was not added to novels as the text is already pretty responsive. You could still zoom in with the browser functionalities.
What more ?
- The profile page
Finally completed the mobile friendly profile page. It is accessible on /@username or clicking any avatar/name throughout the site.
If you are a creator the page goes fetch all you series, organised in comics and novels. The part of the site could definitely be expanded with blog, reading list, etc... so more to come in the future.
The project is currently in alpha phase with read only features. I am focusing for now on the core features that would enable to me to launch the beta version of the site. Next up is a quick overview of the pagination feature and user login.
For any interested Hive creator out there!
You can already add your content to the platform using the right tags.
Adding the series id on all corresponding posts, writing it as follows "author-seriesname" (example: "jrej-shadesofmen") The series name is for you to choose but must be the same for all episodes.
Adding the tag "inkito-comics" or "inkito-novels" on your most recent post for ranking.
Optionally you can add categories as tags in your first episode. The categories could be any of the following. "action, comedy, drama, fantasy, horror, mystery, romance, scifi, sliceoflife"
The first post would include some of the main series info. The first image would be your series cover image and the title, the series title. Hope to see some of you over there.
