He's doing great. Thanks for your question. At this moment he's training with the team on snow. They have excellent conditions. Warm sunny day, soft snow at 1800 meters above sea level...
We both love to ski then :)
I was thinking of buying or lending splitboard equipment. Yet I am too clumsy and lazy to learn to use it properly.
Splitboard is the next best thing. You split the board on your way up the mountains and then you put it together and snowboard down.
Didn't know about it! Nice... maybe I can still learn LOL Attempted several times...

I'll rent it. Next winter as it seems now with the lockdown ...
I doubt I will have any available in NZ... but I know they exist.
