Heya my dear fellow Hiveans of the world!
I can hardly believe it... HiveFest is turning 10! ๐ฑ A full decade of meeting up IRL (and VR!), sharing stories, ideas, hugs, drinks (some), and countless moments that made this community what it is today.
So where do we celebrate this double-digit milestone? Somewhere buzzing, vibrant, and full of life, yes yes!...
Yes! HiveFest10 is setting up shop in the heart of Southeast Asia this October. Tropical energy, skyscrapers meets street food, jungle vibes and cutting-edge tech all mashed together in one epic, sweaty, spicy, unforgettable location.
๐ Dates: October 15โ19, 2025
Expect the usual suspects:
- ๐ฌ Day 0 (Wed): Touchdown, badge up, cold drinks in hand. Welcome to KL!
- ๐ค Day 1 & 2 (Thu + Fri): Talks, workshops, panels, and proper IRL face-time with fellow Hivers.
- ๐๏ธ Day 3 (Sat): Chill Hive Expo, explore the city, do something fun, eat something weird.
- ๐ป Day 4 (Sun): Wind-down day with a closing dinner, more drinks, more hugs. And travel on together?
๐ฒ๐พ Why Malaysia?
Malaysia ticks all the boxes: itโs budget-friendly, easy to reach, and welcoming to travelers with relaxed visa policies for most nationalities. Kuala Lumpur is a dynamic, accessible hub with amazing food, a great climate, and a perfect blend of modern infrastructure and Southeast Asian soul.
HiveFest traditionally alternates between European and non-European destinations. The last time we brought the Hive (then Steem) community to Asia was back in 2019 in Bangkok โ five years ago already! A return to the region is long overdue, and KL is ready to host us in style.

So, I booked one week of holiday in October last month, exactly when Hivefest is, should be a sign. Plane tickets are a boomer, but I hope to make it.
oh my what a coincidence. Yeah I found the price of 550 Pounds with BA 13 outward 21 OCT back. Its pretty steep, but cost of living overthere should def make up for it.

However, they are really strict about what kind of medication you can bring into the country. If they take my medication away, I will have a big problem. ๐ค I really want to go!
