During your journeys on the astral chains you come across a pamphlet titled
Reality enclave wants you!
Not having anything urgent to do and looking for distraction and entertainment you pick it up and start reading.
Do you want to be a Claimant? Do you want to get yourself a character and explore what is left of reality? Are you ready to take arms and fight? Or are you more of a crafter or tycoon? No matter what, join the Claimants of Reality Enclave today.
Intrigued you look through the getting-started section of the pamphlet.
When you join CoRE (https://discord.gg/WUfU2qQvXR) the first thing you should do, apart from !intro for some flavor, is !claimcharacter. This opens up the dialogue to claim your first character and join the game. As suggested by this dialogue, you should do !tutorial next. This tutorial will teach you about the basic commands in the game, you will learn about !explore, !visit and !work as well as the !market.
command | function |
---|---|
!questlog | Keep track of your current quests. You can use !quest and the id you find in the questlog to get hints to specific quests, for example '!quest 1'. |
!explore | You go on to explore the current zone you are in. You might find interesting things, you will have decisions to make and potentially enemies to fight, you never know. |
!visit | Unlike !explore you can !visit a specific point of interest, nothing is random about this. For example you can !visit and then choose the Citadel and after the Messhall to get some free food, as the tutorial suggests. |
!work | To earn some FAVOR, the main currency, you should work. Unskilled workers will find a job in the Goobatory, but there may be players looking for workers too. |
After you are familiar with these commands there are a few more helpful ones.
command | function |
---|---|
!status | A quick overview how much hp, energy and TDP (time distortion power) you have. Also shows some of your progress. |
!overview | A detailed overview over your account. It might be a bit much at the beginning, but you can use it to keep track of things. |
!command | Should you ever forget which commands exist, this lists all of them. Not just that, it is actually a dialogue system, so you can just play the game through !command, altough it is probably faster to remember the main commands. |
Keep in mind, that dialogues must be closed to start another. If you didn't close your previous dialogue you can just use '0', to go back, eventually ending the current dialogue. Note, it is a beta, some locks might be missing and it could happen that you end up in 2 dialogues at the same time. If you get confusion dialogues, just '0' until things stop confusing you. :)
You can continue to !explore the beginner zone, you will learn a thing or two and gain experience, eventually leveling up. Now is the time to have a closer look at your character with !char.
command | function |
---|---|
!char | Access your current character to see the status, spend attribute points, deal with skillpoints and memories or retire. |
There are a lot of things you can do with your character as you level up. I recommend the charactertutorial in the Scholarium. The Scholarium you ask? Remember the !visit command? You can go to the Citadel and into the Scholarium, here you can do (or repeat) tutorials. I highly recommend the character tutorial at this point. You can also do the other tutorials of course to learn about !map and !travel, !create and !equipment.
command | function |
---|---|
!map | Brings up your mental map to give you information about your current zone and options where to travel. You can also use the shortcut !travel and the zoneID, for example '!travel 2' to go to zone 2. |
!create | The main command to create things in the game, be it weapons, armor, tools, food or even memories. |
!equipment | Manage your equipment, equip and unequip items or repair them. |
If you want to craft, you can !visit the Citadel and go to the Curator's Workshop where you can buy various crafting blueprints. You can also just buy things on the market or, if you don't, just ask players to craft something for you. Equipment is crucial to advance in the game, as there are dangerous enemies out there. Where out there? Well in the later zones.
If you haven't tried yet, travel to the outskirts. This is a different zone with different things to !explore. You will also learn about hunting there and if you are not careful you might die and lose your character. Yes, you heard right, there is no resurrection, you will have to !claimcharacter a new one if you die and you lose your equipped weapons and armor.
But dying is not all bad. You might be rewarded with lingering memories. Remember them? From the character tutorial? That is the rogue-lite element of the game. Even if you don't die, you will eventually want to retire your character to get them to unlock new skills and abilities and progress beyond the limitations of a single character.
I will leave it here, because you probably have enough information and want to live it for yourself. Here once more the list of all commands for your first hours of play.

Please keep in mind that the game is, and likely always will, be in development and evolve, so some things might change, but that said, the cornerstones of the game should remain as they are at that point.
There is more to explore in the game I haven't touched on, if you make it far enough. Things like campaigns, land and buildings, production and shops. But enough reading the guide and time to read what the game tells you. :) Give it a go and try it for yourself (https://discord.gg/WUfU2qQvXR).
