#HiveMarketing Monday

Intro and Obligatory Imposter Syndrome Statement.

Welcome to Marketing Monday! As someone passionate about the Hive community, I've often thought about creating a weekly post to highlight and celebrate our collective marketing efforts. Though I've had a few starts and stops, here I go jumping in again.

While I am no expert, my aim is to learn more about Hive and the individuals working tirelessly to keep it growing and evolving. If someone else is already doing this, please let me know—I'm not here to step on any toes, just to explore and contribute to our community.

I'll be keeping a close eye on marketing and development initiatives within the Hive ecosystem and sharing regular updates through these Marketing Monday posts. Join me on this journey as we dive into the exciting world of Hive marketing!

This Week in #HiveMarketing?

Authors of the featured posts are set as beneficiaries.

Please Help

Hive is a decentralized platform with no corporate or centrally planned entity to do the marketing. It is up to us individually, so how do we keep high quality and consistent progress? We need to be diligent and active

Lets bring attention to various initiatives, celebrate their successes, and encourage others to participate. I highly encourage you to consider delegating and voting as much as possible to people and communities that are taking it upon themselves to help Hive grow. We really need them.

Please remember to use the #hivemarketing tag and encourage others to as well.

The following are just some ideas I scraped up from seeing what others are doing around here. Although I do want to keep this simple, this is my first post of the series and I wanted to explore all the ways we could improve and grow if there was a community to support more activity.

Weekly Challenges?

  • Content Creation Challenge: Let's encourage each other to create blog posts, videos, or podcast episodes promoting Hive or a specific Hive project. We can choose a theme, such as "Hive for beginners" or "Why I love Hive," to guide our content creation.

  • Social Media Sharing Challenge: We can share Hive-related content on our social media platforms using a specific hashtag. By tracking the hashtag, the best-shared content can be highlighted in the next Marketing Monday post. We could use Posh, of course. Others?

  • Community Outreach Challenge: Let's introduce Hive to someone who is not familiar with the platform and share our experiences in the comments or write separate posts about the interaction.

  • Infographic Design Challenge: We can create infographics that showcase the benefits, features, or growth of Hive. This visual content can be easily shared across social media platforms to reach a wider audience.

  • Hive Testimonial Challenge: Let's write testimonials about our experiences with Hive, focusing on how the platform has impacted our lives or what we find most valuable about it.

  • Meme Creation Challenge: We can create and share Hive-related memes, adding humor and entertainment to the Marketing Monday posts. Memes can be a fun and engaging way to spread awareness about Hive.

  • Local Hive Meetup Challenge: Let's organize local Hive meetups or attend one in our area. This can help strengthen the community and increase Hive awareness in our region.

  • Influencer Outreach Challenge: We can reach out to influencers in the crypto or tech industry, asking them to share their thoughts on Hive or collaborate on content creation.

I would love to hear your opinions and input on which of these challenges we should try and why. Let's work together to find the right ones and implement them effectively. If you have any additional ideas for challenges, please share them in the comments.

Remember to clearly explain the rules, deadlines, and any potential rewards for participating in each challenge. This will help to motivate us and ensure we understand the challenge requirements. After each challenge, the best submissions can be featured in the next Marketing Monday post, further incentivizing participation and showcasing the community's efforts.

Incentives?

As a community, let's consider and discuss the following incentive ideas to motivate more users to participate in our Marketing Monday challenges and contribute to the growth of Hive:

  • Hive Power Delegations: We could reward challenge winners with temporary Hive Power delegations for a specified duration (e.g., one week or one month). This will increase their influence on the platform and provide them with additional curation rewards.

  • Upvote Rewards: Maybe a vote trail? We can offer upvotes from our accounts or collaborating accounts to challenge participants. This can be based on the quality of their submissions, the level of engagement, or creativity. Upvotes will provide participants with direct rewards in the form of Hive tokens.

  • Featured Posts: The best submissions can be highlighted in the next Marketing Monday post, giving participants more exposure within the Hive community. This can help them gain more followers, engagement, and recognition for their efforts. I'll start here and focus mainly on this until maybe this grows and we see some of these others implemented.

  • Community Support: We can encourage Hive communities and their leaders to support the incentive program by offering additional upvotes or delegations to challenge winners. This can help attract more participants and strengthen the collaboration between Hive communities.

  • Exclusive Badges or Titles: We could create custom badges or titles that challenge winners can display on their Hive profiles or posts. This can give participants a sense of accomplishment and recognition within the community.

  • Hive Token Rewards: If resources allow, we could consider creating a pool and offering some amount of Hive tokens as a reward for challenge winners or top submissions. This can be an additional motivator for users to participate in the challenges.

  • Mentoring or Collaboration Opportunities: We can offer challenge winners the opportunity to collaborate with experienced Hive users or receive one-on-one mentoring in marketing, content creation, or other relevant areas.

Let's discuss which of these incentives resonate with us and why. By working together, we can refine these ideas and implement an effective incentive program that benefits the entire community. If you have any additional ideas for incentives, please share them in the comments.

Make sure to clearly outline the incentive program rules, eligibility criteria, and reward distribution to ensure transparency and fairness. By offering a variety of incentives, we can motivate more users to participate in the challenges, contribute to Hive marketing efforts, and help grow the platform.

Submissions can be done by leaving a comment below, and/ or join our Discord.

I've been working on a PR project for Hive where I:

  1. Research potential channels outside of Hive with which to share newsworthy / aligned content
  2. Scour Hive itself for interesting stories, then condense said stories into a digestible "snippets" (think press release, but boiled down to essentials that could fit into a Tweet)
  3. Share said snippets with the channels from #1

Rinse, repeat while learning along the way and hopefully building some relationships with journalists or other channels.

I'm currently in the middle of Phase 2 of the first cycle :)

Happy to chat more about this! Discord = jfuji#0169

Also, if you haven't seen what ValuePlan is up to re: marketing, check it out—latest proposal should shed some light.

I would love to see/do both content challenges like "Hive for beginners" and have a lot of tutorials teaching how to use different hive tools and frontends from different perspectives, also the testimonial posts work quite well to attract new users, in the hispanic community they are used and every time I see one I'm very interested to go through it

That is awesome. We can organize here or I see you are also in our Discord.

@hiro-hive Do I remember right that you made a marketing community?

I'd LOVE to help with this, I'm usually pretty free and I'm looking to do something different from my usual content, I'm going to write you on discord and see if I can help with anything

I started a series called the ABC for newbies in the beginning of the new year and I guess I got to "tale 4" or something like that.

I had a lot of posts like the ones suggested by you and shared all of them on twitter but unfortunately, I don't have a large following on that app.

I still have the dream to get someone noteworthy to Hive.

Thank you for including.

I messaged you on Discord

Great to see this post, small steps can make a big impact in the long run. May God guide you
