There is this popular saying that fear is the greatest enemy of man. This word is 100 percent true as a human. The moment you allow fear to take over you, that means we have given fear the opportunity to rule over you.

As humans, at some point in our lives, we have been afraid of something. Either you are losing someone so special to you or you are afraid of losing a contract.

There are many things humans are afraid of. What really matters is our ability to stand up and fight those fears. We should never allow our fear to take the better part of us.
The moment you let fear take over, it will limit you in so many ways. Most times, when I wake up from sleep, I am afraid to step out because my mindset has been poisoned with fear. I see fear as poison.

What is fear?
Fear is unpleasant, though. Fear is an unknown fact; it has a lot of negative effects on humans the moment you allow fear to take over. You will always think less of yourself; you will lack self-confidence and self-esteem.
My great fear. There is this two things i am afraid of they are.

  • Fear of failing: this has been my greatest fear. The thought of it alone always makes me afraid. The thought of not making it through life and not achieving my goals always makes me so scared of myself. These fears limit me to so many things.
  • Secondly, the fear of disappointing my family—just the thought of it alone makes me scared. As the first child of the family, the family expects a lot of things from me. The thought of failing my family also makes me scared. Most times, it gives me sleepless nights, and most times, when I wake up, I will be full of fear.
These fears of mine really limit me in so many ways. I was not confident in myself; I started thinking lowly of myself. I was living in fear because I didn’t want to fail or disappoint my family.

How was I able to overcome this fear of mine?

All thanks to my friend, who noticed I was living in fear and talked me out of this fear of mine. After my friend talked to me about fighting my fears, I was so determined to fight my fears.
I visited a therapist.

  • My therapist was really good. She talked me out of my fear and instructed me to face my fear, which I did, and it really helped me to overcome my fear.
  • Being positive: because I am positive about myself, I build up my confidence. This really helps me see things from another angle.

Conclusion: Fear is the greatest enemy of man. We should never allow our fear to take advantage of us; we should always fight our fear.

This is my entry for the weekly prompt #hl-w110e1.
