Charity begin at home, well I don't really know if that goes to the context of this prompt but I want to make a point.
Charity can be defined as an attitude of kindness and understanding towards others, now especially suggesting generosity or random act of Goodness to people.
So let's Go back to my previous quote that: "charity begins at Home", if you were well brought up with good moral and ethics, your intentions towards charity won't be for show or for personal benefits,
This is my humble opinion about how a person should be charitable.
Many act of kindness this days is done for the camera. This is the sorry state of our modern day living. Many people do things for people to see them, just as the Bible call them hypocrites. I am sorry if my words feels kinda harsh but this is just the bitter truth.

I remember the experience I had with someone that helped me with some funds during my school days and the next thing I heard was the news all around the school that this person actually gave me some money, well the truth is that the money really helped me to get the issue solved at that particular moment but I felt the person spoilt the whole acts by spreading the news of helping me all around.

Don't get me wrong about this, I believe in doing charity or helping the needy without any particular show off or eye service, as my Nigerian friends will call it.

Does it really matter if the act of kindness comes from your heart or it is just for Show?

Well to me, the answer is yes, it does matter. Just like i said earlier I believe the act of kindness should comes from within you, without any expectations to get anything back or any reciprocation what so ever.
Even our God searches the heart of Men and he accepts only people that give from their Hearts.
Jesus Gave the parable of the Widow and the Rich man,

The Widow Gave just a coin, and that was all she had, she gently took it the coin and gave it, her offering was very much accepted, unlike the rich man, who in the parable gave not from his heart, the rich man true intentions wasn't actually to give an heartfelt offering but he gave little and he was doing showoffs in the process, which at the end of the day, his offering was rejected.
This is a typical answer from the Bible,
God loves a cheerful Person or Giver not a show person or a person expecting returns.
If My God can search the intention of Men, and make that a requirement to accept your giving or sacrifices, also the quality should be imbibed by Men also.

In Conclusion
experience I shared earlier on this post about the person that Helped me with some funds and go on telling people about it, this was so very unpleasant for me that I felt like just returning the money back to him. The act of kindness and generosity must come from the Heart not for Show.

Thank yo so much for visiting my blog❤️

Do have a great day
