My pumpkins, spices and herbs are doing well.

If this summer is nice we may have pumpkins in the fall.

I planted some seeds today too.

Most have two rows, the dill only has one.
The seed packets are behind the rows where they are planted. Helps for future reference too.

So I have baby duck growing and plants.

Hope your farms and homesteads are doing well too.

Looking good! Hope you have a great garden this year. I am going to get mine other stuff going soon. Waiting till I know we will not have a frost.

I hear ya on that! I actually brought back pumpkins from a frosty death last year. Here in Alaska it’s a pain. You will have 50°-60° weather and then it will frost at night.

Looks like everything is growing great!
The seeds you planted today, what kinda of container/pot/ bag did you plant them in?

I used Jiff, lol 😂

They looked like little bags of some sort, lol.
The ones I have had the expanding discs too but they were also in individual little cups/pots

Maybe because I loosened the top of the peat pellets. Some of them had the plastic stuff over the top.

Everything looks so great! You must be excited for spring! Yay more seed starting, you have so much good stuff:) I can't wait to see your garden <3

Thanks 😊
I can’t wait for the snow to melt! We go to town and there is no snow. But when we get to our place we still have about 2 feet now, ice under puddles too.

You're certainly ahead of my planting schedule. But then, I don't have many plants that need to be started in the house, I'm just planting field corn, hard beans, and squash this year, maybe some potatoes.

Corn takes to long to grow for up here, it get to 3-4 feet then it frosts and kills it. Some people who have high tunnels get better results. Thinking hard on how to make one.
I forgot to plant my mini broccoli before I took the photo. I planted like 35 broccoli too. 😁

There is a variety of multicolor hard corn that was developed in Montana for the harsh climate there, the seeds are sold by Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co. The variety is called Painted Mountain. I'm going to be planting this variety this year to use for making hominy.
The corn is supposed to be cold hardy and early, so it should be interesting to see how it grows here. According to the package, it can also be eaten fresh, although it probably won't be as sweet as most sweet corn is. You can get the seeds from their internet store.
There is also a variety of popcorn called Tom Thumb that is a very early corn, about 60 to 70 days. It has little ears, and the plants get about 3 to 4 feet tall. I've planted that in the past at the end of May and harvested it at the end of August. I got those seeds from Annie's Heirloom Seeds, also on the internet.

Wow! Thanks for the info on where to get corn!
