2 Minutes with the Farmer: Teaching Kids How to Work Hard!!!

in #homesteading6 years ago

Today on 2 Minutes with the Farmer join us as we teach our kids how to work hard. Working hard is a skill that I think we all need to teach our children. Here on the farm there are many teachable moments. Picking walnuts is one of those.

Thank you for spending 2 minutes with me!

How long does it need to save to buy (*cat and bob??? or captain bob??) drone? Please make a video the drone :-). Great video.

If we save all our walnut money we might be able to buy one by the end of the year

Always welcome... Sir

Only father Can teach better than others about Value of Hardwork.

That is a truth..."sometimes it takes alot of work to make a little bit of money." Most people today missed that lesson.

Work on the farm is hard but oh, so rewarding! That is a lot of walnuts. How many do you think the kids have picked so far?

They have picked about 400 lbs so far. We are just getting started. Hopefully it will cool off soon

haha! that's the way to do it Farmer! you got $500 worth of walnuts there that the kid picked and he gets $4! lol. great job. we felt like slaves when we were growing up on the farm but we didn't understand the costs of anything until we got older but I'm sure you're doing a great job of teaching about economics a the same time.
Man, that's alot of walnuts and alot of work!
I like that audience too! lol. great video sir Farmer!

Thank you very much. That is only about $75 worth of walnuts. Lots of life lessons on the farm;)

howdy back sir Farmer! yes sir there sure is, that's why I'm so balanced! lol. how much is a drone like that, the kind they want?

Around $1,400. They are going to have to get really busy with the walnuts

howdy sir Farmer! well, if all those walnuts you guys gathered was $75 then how many hauls like that are left? That's a great way to teach them!

Last year we hauled about 17 loads and only got over about 1/3 of the farm. We will see how far we get this year

holy moly Farmer! 17 loads of the size you showed in the video? that's a ton of work! so multiply that by 3. dang! that will buy a drone!

That drone is pretty darn cool and way to teach them the value of hard work.

Thank you sir!!!
