On Friday morning I was up at 5:30AM. It seems my sleep times are slowly changing. When I pulled up the shades at 7AM, this is what I saw.
Little trees forsythias in the snow
I got my post up and a shower before my helper friend arrived at 8AM. We went down to the cellar and resumed trying to put the shelving together. The configuration of the placing of the nuts left a great deal to be desired. We put one shelf in backwards and had to take it out again. His big fingers and my hands that don’t do as they are told were liabilities.
Sometime after we started my #2 intern arrived and washed up these trays and covers for the seed starting on the 17th. When she finished I stopped work in the cellar and sat with her as she told me about the trip to see her college she will be starting this summer.
When I went back to putting the shelving together, it was obvious we didn’t have enough nuts and bolts. So my helper friend went to the store for more. While he was gone, I counted the candles in the 3 full boxes left in the cellar. There were something near 1000… Now the boxes are labeled and organized for whenever I finally get to the luminaria project.
We finally got the shelving together and started loading the shelves. The bottom was the 3 boxes of candles. Then we took the stuff off the middle shelf on the left and put it on the new shelves. It didn’t weigh much and these are light duty shelves. I plan to put the heavier boxes of candles on the left shelf.
Once that was done, we started cleaning up some of the mess we made. Then we moved onto checking paint cans to see if the paint was still good. We got the bottom shelf of the paint cabinet done before he had to go.
All the standing had done my foot in so I sat down for a while. I’d hoped to start working on one of the upstairs projects, but I didn’t get anything done but the kitchen cleaned up.
The company providing help for washing windows on Saturday called and moved the time to Monday. That works much better for me. They will be coming the next 3 Mondays instead of Saturdays.
It turned to rain during the day and much of the snow was washed away. But it’s still cold.
On Saturday it’s to snow/rain more and stay cold, right through to Sunday afternoon when it starts to warm up. On Saturday I plan to work on the boxes of candles so they can go back to the cellar.

Winter really needs to be done! My friend in Minnesota got around a foot of snow sometime last week. We've just had rain off and on.
That’s quite some massive snows there. I though once springs shows up there’s no showing up of them snows again…great you had someone help you with the cleaning up
That's fresh snow or the old still there?
