Bengaluru: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu today called upon all regional parties to come together to develop the federal structure in the country. Both the leaders said that they want to promote regional parties and strengthen them. They came here to join the swearing-in of the Congress-JD (S) Coalition Government, HD Kumaraswamy Nitin.
Mamta and Naidu said that they are happy that the leader of a regional party took over the post of Chief Minister and has come here to show solidarity with JD (S). Mamta told reporters, "We have come here to support Kumaraswamy and his government and we have the best hope.
"He said," We will keep in touch with all the regional parties so that we can work for the development of the nation, the development of the people and the development of the federal structure. "Mamta said that if the state becomes strong then the center will also be strong. In the oath-taking ceremony of Kumaraswamy, the presence of many Opposition leaders and Chief Ministers is being seen as a development which can be the foundation of anti-BJP platform before the next Lok Sabha elections.
Standing with them during Mamata's remarks, Naidu expressed happiness over the regional party leader's becoming the Chief Minister of Karnataka. When asked if it is to be united for the front against Prime Minister Narendra Modi or BJP, Naidu said, "We want to promote regional parties." We want to strengthen (regional parties). This is Mamta ji and the mission of our party and we are doing similar work. ''
