Rhode Island Wants to Treat Drug Dealers Like Murderers

in #informationwar6 years ago

It looks like the Democrat controlled Rhode Island is siding with Trump on the harsher punishments for drug dealers, which is totally ignorant to history and to reality.

Today drug use is up and more and more people are trying drugs then ever before, of course government would love to be the ones to solve this problem and probably make some money off it in the process.

On February 17, 2014, 29-year-old Kristen Coutu injected herself for the last time. She was found dead in her car Cranston, Rhode Island, around 11 p.m. She thought she was taking heroin, but instead got pure fantanyl.

Aaron Andrade, was charged with second-degree murder, pleaded guilty, and is now serving a 40-year sentence. Which I can agree if certain criteria were met, for example if I tell you I am selling you heroin and I give you something other then heroin I am committing fraud and if you die then yes I could get charged with murder. What if I truly thought it was heroin and the guy that I bought it from committed fraud? Then maybe the other guy could get charged with murder or fraud and I could get charged with something as well. I don't know, but we could look at how the legal drugs work.

If a pharmacy sells you a drug and you die from it usually they are not liable because they told you the effect's of said drug, usually you also sign waivers and other things.

Under a bill just passed in Rhode Island by some statist says drug dealers could face life in prison if drugs they sell are used in fatal overdoses, that means even if the person signs a waiver it would not be seen as "legal" and the salesmen would still be charged with murder.

The bill is supposed to deter drug dealers, but history shows this will probably hurt the users which are usually poor families and in the "ghettos" or what I would just call poorer communities. Lets not forget this will also lead to more of our freedom being hindered as we have already seen with the recent drug war, I mean you get caught with a half gram of marijuana and the rip your car to shreds (Then they watch you even closer).

It's also pretty hard to tell the difference between a user and a dealer or a salesmen and a buyer, because most of the time people do both or they have some and there buying more (which would mean they have money and drugs) This bill will just lead to more non-violent people crowding up court and prisons when we need to be putting murders, rapist, and violent people in prison. It also does not help when we can't put violent people through court right away because of all the "dealers".

With Trump floating the idea of the death penalty, it looks like another case of more laws and more enforcement rather then more help for these people. Do people not realize that if you legalize all drugs what you will get is a above ground process that will work more efficiently and more safely for people who do use those drugs. Also if these people are free from punishment maybe they will be more willing to talk with others about their problem and seek help.

Plain and simple overdoses and murders are two different things one is I kill you without your consent the other is I sell you the drug telling you full well what the effects could be and you decide its in your best interest to take it anyway then that is on you.

"She didn't ask to die," Kristen's mother testified to the Rhode Island House. "She didn't ask for a lethal dose of fentanyl that would have killed someone much bigger than her."

She is very right Kristen wanted heroin not fentanyl, but as long as these things are illegal and there is so many regulations drug users will never have a safe, effective, or reliable way to tell what they put in their bodies. They also will not be able to hold dealers accountable for fraud, murder, negligence and other crimes surrounding fraud.

There will always be an underground market when you outlaw things, hell I am sure there is an underground market for toilets that have more then 3.5 gallons per flush lol.

Anyone who decides to sell heroin is not a good person. I could say go one step further and say the very sale is attempted murder. People. Die. From. Heroin.

That does not give you the right to violate someones rights, maybe you should read the post again so you can see the solution to the problem. Because obviously you dont realize that punishing dealers or banning the supply actually makes the problem worse. Wake up and stop being apart of the problem.

You are literally crazy lol so if I sell you a car and tell you it has no brakes and you say thats fine ill drive it anyways are you saying I should be charged with murder if he takes it a dies?
