Indeed, the war that lasted from 1914 to 1918 only occurred in continental Europe. However, since European countries have colonies outside Europe, the effects of war are felt in many parts of the world. Therefore, the war was called World War II.

The use of the term World War II is also due to Europe's moderate outlook. The causes of World War I can be divided into common causes and special causes. The common cause is a long-term cause, but it has not caused war.

Special causes are the immediate cause of the outbreak of war, often referred to as the trigger. Common causes of the First World War can be classified into three categories: conflicts among European countries, the formation of alliances, and the arms race.

In general, the First World War was caused by inter-state conflicts, the emergence of political inquiry into allied countries, arms race, and the national movement of the people in the Balkans.

Before the outbreak of World War I, there was a US-ROK alliance with great power in Europe. The alliance was shaken by the assassination of Austrian heir Franz Ferdinand, the Hungarian emperor. The killings were committed by Yugoslav nationalists in Sarajevo on June 22, 1914. As a result of the assassination, Habsburg's ultimatum appeared in the Serbian kingdom. Within weeks of the ultimatum, each of the major powers of the alliance would join the war, and this war spread throughout the world and was known as "World War I".

The World War I period was four years old. The war between these two different alliances took place on land, the continent and the sea. On the other hand, the territorial or war zone is divided into three fronts: the Eastern Front, Front Balkan War and Western Front Battle. In all cases, there is no country except Germany. In front of the east, the Germans stood up against the Russian imperial army. In front of the Balkan Empire, Germany meets with countries like Romania, Britain, Serbia and Russia.

At the time of World War I, beside the western front, German forces were responsible for England, Belgium, Holland and France. A few months later, Italy fought. Italy became an ally of Russia, France and Britain. It was because of the hostility towards the Hungarian Austrian empire that we joined the Italians. Hostilities happen because parts of Italy are still controlled by the empire.

In the First World War, the Germans attacked all land and sea. On land, Germany uses toxic gases (chlorine, phosgene, mustard). The use of this toxic gas is very dangerous. The affected person can cause death. However, in the development of this gas can be expected by using gas mask weapons. Further developments prohibit the use of chemicals and bombs through the 1907 Hague Convention.

In World War I, Germany won the battle. This is because German submarine technology has grown enormously. Germans attacked using their submarines, which were repaired on Allied Merchant Troops and Triple Entity vessels. However, a German attack was found about British ships and hundreds of people dead. This is why the United States was invited to World War I. On April 10, 1917, the United States declared war on Germany.

World War I was one of the most destructive wars in modern history. Nearly 10 million soldiers have been killed, far more than the number of military casualties killed in all wars over the past 100 years. A total of 21 million people were injured. Many victims are partly due to the use of new weapons such as machine guns and gas fields. On July 1, 1916, the highest number of casualties occurred and more than 57,000 British soldiers were killed in the Somme. The largest number of army casualties comes from Germany and Russia, each estimated at 1,773,700 and 1,700,000. France lost 16% of its deployed troops. Experts estimate that 13 million non-combatants, either directly or indirectly, were killed by the war. At the end of the war, the death toll rose sharply with the emergence of Spanish flu, the deadliest pandemic flu in history. Millions of people were driven from their homes or evicted.

hi @egotheist, thanks for letting me know. this may be a valuable lesson for me to be more careful. how can i get a free licensed image?

Usually, the Google image search tool "labeled for reuse" should do the trick. Quite often, it will show you images on pixabay.com.
In general: if you can't see a licence at an image, better not use it. The best pictures for usage are the ones with PD (Public Domain - no copyrights) or CC0 (Creative Commons licensed - the creator has set zero terms on their use). There are some others you can use, but this is usually explained next to them.

@egotheist I apologize if I make a mistake, this will be the first and last. should I remove the #steemstem tag?

Mistakes happen, that's why we're here :)

I don't think, you should remove it. Just change the pictures and it should be alright. Changing them is also for your own protection: some lawyers are specialized in suing copyright violations.

@egotheist I have changed it according to what I understand from the conversation, if there is still error please help you. thank you for the information you have provided.

You did well :)

Just one more thing: your references should be credited with more precision. Just provide the exact links to your sources.
