Let’s stop calling it “fake news” and return to the real meaning — corporate media are, pure and simple, liars. And they do not care if you know it or not.
It is not their job to inform you, nor it is to entertain you any more. Now their only job is to scare you. Lying with impunity gives a certain sense of power over the scared “info consumers”. And it is partly right — if you are wasting your life watching corporate media, you probably believe that you can’t do anything against them. It is an illusion. They are actually left without any power, except that power of illusion that encompasses their consumers. Case in point — Venezuela: CNN has just invented “Venezuelan elections” at which Guaido has won! Two propagandists were signed below this obvious lie, published on Sunday afternoon, and embarrasingly corrected on Monday.
When Obama lied about an alleged referendum in Serbian province Kosovo and Metohija, violently separated from Serbia, in March 2014, no one from corporate media tried to correct him.
But let’s return to the power of illusion, and the illusion of power. It is aimed at keeping the slaves scared. As long as the consumers believe in the illusion of power, they will be impotent to change anything in this World, and scared to even try. They will be a common sheep heard ready for shearing and slaughter. And the thing is really simple — just stop reading, listening and watching corporate media, and the illusion will vanish. You are not going to lose anything. These are nothing but lies anyway:

How is it possible that all the corporate media are singing the same tune in unison? Well, it is possibe because they have one master — the big financial capital. Remember what Russian President Vladimir Putin has said in response to the question in 2016, regarding the Mossac-Fonseca affair?
That is not even a secret any more. You may call them “powerful people” if you wish, but it is one same small group of people which I prefer to call financial plutocracy. They are the ones that want the power over your life. They are creating a World on the monstrous corporate media lies that only can exist if you continue to believe in it. At your own expense.
You really don’t need the corporate media any more. Now you have broadband Internet and alternate media. If you ask which ones are alternate media, just look what is censored over centralized platforms like Google, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter… and search them at decentralized media like Steemit. It is easy. Go directly to Wikileaks, or search through portal New Samizdat,, or the most viewed Internet outlet RT.com, or The Empire Files with Abby Martin, or CCTV, or The Grey Zone Project, or The Real News, or PressTV, or start here with our @rt-international, @v4vapid, @leecamp, @eleanorgoldfield, @caitlinjohnstone, @kenokeefe, @pressfortruth, @corbettreport… or organize your own network of information with the people you know, the people who wouldn’t lie, people like Ljubodrag Simonović, PhD, or professor Richard Wolff. Or anything else instead of follow lying centralized corporate media. When you leave them, you will starve them. The Empire of Lies will fall. And the World will be better.

Hmmnnnnnnnn..... @lighteye ... Your post is the second post I read here on Steemit so far today, and 'both' were addressing a very 'similar' subject. It is obviously an issue which is on the mind of many these days. (Power and Control, or illusion of it)
Here's a link in case you're interested in @dandays 'Lion and Raccoon' parable in a sense...
Hope all is well with you.
That’s a good one, @angryman. Thanks for pointing it to me :)
You're welcome; I thought it was an interestingly creative piece.
