I managed four decent runs in the last 10 days, it's been a good stretch....
I've documented four below, in addition I did 2 shorter 2Ks after some circuit sessions, so all in all probably the most running I've done in 10 days this year!!!
Hereford Town....
I headed out early, as one has to do to in order to beat the traffic on this route, just really set myself a medium pace and kept going, there's a bit of a hill half way around, so happy days, managed to run up it without walking, which is something I normally do but more recently haven't been because of HR tempo training, but this time I just carried on!
Intervals...
Headed up to the track for what I tink look like some decent intervals....
One 800 metre and then 3 400s, I think the last few spikes are cool downs on the way home, this is my fave run ATM!
5K local - faster than usual
I'm not sure where the pace came from but I'll take it...
Possibly a combination of this being slightly later starting than usual (it was a half term which allows for that) and a very slightly different route, I wanted to end closer to Hereford Town Centre so I could pick up some coffees and cakes!
5K PM local - a little slower...
Although only slower than the previous alternative 5K circuit, 5.07 isn't too bad a pace for me these days!
Oh and this was a rare evening run, I just wasn't feeling it in the morning!
Final thoughts...
I'm very happy with this, four runs in ten days, and I think I did around 3 circuit sessions in that time too, maybe even four, the problem is I forget to start the Garmin to record the circuits.
Having said that I started feeling ill yesterday, I don't think this is me overdoing it, there's this throat thing going round.
I slept for 12 hours on and off last night, honestly I went to bed at 19.30! And I still feel a bit blurrgh now, not too bad, but not 100%
I was gonna do another intervals session today but I've abandoned that!
Need to rest!
Having said that I will do some Yoga probs!!!

Good stuff. I am trying to do more intervals as they make a real difference. I need to get my legs moving quicker for at least some of the time. parkrun is my benchmark and I've seen some improvements.

Good to hear you're getting faster! There's hope for us all yet...

These oldies inspire me. There's some fairly quick people in their 60s and 70s at parkrun. I don't want to be doddering around in 10-20 years time.
I try and stay active as a rolling stone gathers no moss but run very little. I take a little jog around the park at the end of our walk and mix in a little sprint to keep things working. That is enough for me and I wonder how much work it would take to get into running shape like you. Not in the cards though as my knees have decades of miles on them and I am not about to start climbing that hill.
Keep on running my man!
I think just focus on what you can do, it's just a habit with me that I (mostly) enjoy!
