A Glimpse About Myself: My Hive Blogging Introduction

Hi everyone, today as we are entering a new stage of the era, we have experienced new and advanced technologies that we use, new trends, and new hobbies, I am Lawrence, but you can also call me thomasino, a person who is also experiencing this new reality.

In today’s world, we constantly experience new trends in which we adapt, but, in terms of the trend of doing recreation activities, I stick to the ones I enjoy. These activities are lawn tennis, table tennis, and badminton and I also run for fun which I find amusing. Other than this I also travel to new places with my father when we have the time. This has been one of my interests which I have been doing for a long time.

When I was born due to some complications, I was put into the ICU in the hospital for a week which I luckily recovered. On the other hand, as time passed I have grown and learned and, even though I enjoy these activities I also excel in my academics as I graduated as an honor student in grade 12 and my education is an important factor for my learning. Following this I also took part in some activities in the school and one of these was a writing competition where I placed first and a sports competition which I also won. Moreover, this has become a standard for me when it comes to my education.

I am a simple person who is generally easy to engage with and can take on new hobbies that I like and pique my interest. Though I tend to be shy about new people, I can easily overcome this when I get to be comfortable with the people around me. In terms of my taste in media entertainment, I enjoy watching anime as it was introduced to me during the pandemic, and this has become my go-to show to watch until now. Following this Korean shows also made me interested as I like the way they create their plots in their dramas.

Where I met my new hobbies and way of entertainment

Due to the recent COVID pandemic, all face-to-face classes were closed and classes became modular. Because of this, my friends introduced me to an online game so that we still get to enjoy it even when not meeting them physically. Because of this, I met new friends online and we played every day after finishing our schoolwork. Every day we played the game until I eventually became good on the game and also convinced some of my other friends to join. Due to this lifestyle, it became my hobby to play. Though, since there is still assigned school work given to us I categorize my time properly so it will be balanced with my hobby and education.

As the pandemic went from weeks to months, and then years I found a new interest to entertain myself during this period which was watching anime and reading Japanese manga as it was introduced to me by my online friends. Because of this, I learned about different shows such as One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, HunterxHunter, and other fan-favorite shows. Because of this I learned many stories and gave me a new way of my imagination which inspired me to start drawing different figures.

Upon learning anime and discovering my skills in drawing I started to draw different figures especially anime figures as it is the type of art that inspired me. Due to this, I learned how to draw and the steps when I started to draw, then I realized that doing art is not a given skill, but a skill given to all of us that needs to be polished. Expanding my learning aside from drawing animated characters I also tried doing realism art as it is interesting and enjoyable. Overall, this hobby became one of my favorite skills that I have because it is deemed useful for me.

Beyond this expenditure during the pandemic, this made me realize that I could do more which led me to do outdoor activities as the time finally came when quarantine was lifted. At first, I entered cycling as I followed my friends into the game. This made me realize that it’s not as easy as it looks as sometimes it can be difficult for different people. Because of this hobby, I get to go to areas that I have not gone to yet and enter new paths that were not discovered.

Afterwards, I was convinced by my uncle to enter tennis which I later joined; this became the sport in which I met new friends. At first, I was nervous because it was my first time entering a tennis court, but afterward, I learned that tennis is a great sport as the players are friendly and it is a sport that not only helps your physical ability but also your mental health. Lastly, a word of inspiration from one of the coaches convinced me even more that it is a great sport as he said, “Life only gives one chance whereas tennis gives two” Following this, I casually play tennis when I have time.

Like badminton and running it was also introduced by my close friends during senior high school and I thank them for that. Because of badminton I also made more friends like the sport tennis. Though badminton was easier than tennis it is not to be underestimated as there are also complex skills that should be learned from the sport.

For running, it may be easy to do but it is a tiring sport as I experience it, I feel like it is a rewarding accomplishment that I was able to run because it is fun especially when together with other people. I do this not only because it is fun, but it helps me to be healthier and most importantly I get to meet new friends along the way from this sport.

One of my latest hobbies that I caught on is reading when I have the time, I tend to read some books and because of this, I get to expand my knowledge and vocabulary. Due to this hobby, I noticed myself that as I put my focus on reading it helped me to be more relaxed on different aspects which is helpful. Though I don’t get to do it often but, I try my best when I have spare time to read.

Reflection and expectations

I was pleased to discover that in the world of blogging, there are countless contents that people share with different people such as new knowledge across different aspects and perspectives of different people such as learning about their cultures, adventures, and our distinction from one another. Because of this, my interest peaked in joining and trying. Lastly, in contrast to my expectations, what can the world expect from me? With my past and present experience, it is sure that I will provide new information across my adventures purely based on the experience that I learned. From this, with my skills and talents,

As I was introduced to HIVE by my supportive teacher, @naymahpz she taught me about the different contents, the Do's and Don'ts and everything about this platform. Through her hard push to, I was convinced to join, as she was explaining it structured to me that there is more to blogging where it's not all about writing but it is about the adventure itself. Because of that, I am thankful for giving me the chance to join and I hope there will be many memorable memories to make.
