Hello Hivians. My name is Precious, but you can call me Presh. I have been introduced to Hive by my awesome friend @joetunex . I currently stay in Johannesburg, South Africa. I am looking forward to share my journey as a single mom, teacher and graphic designer with the Hive family and also to learn from your wealth of knowledge.
First of all I am a single mother to a handsome boy 19 month old boy. I call him a miracle boy because I was told countless times by doctors that I cannot have children. Sadly his daddy passed on when I was 4 months pregnant. His birth brought so much joy in my life, it changed the way I view life as a whole.
Secondly, I am a Maths and Science teacher at a School for the Deaf, deep in the heart of Soweto. Teaching those souls the past 7 years has taught me so much patience that I never knew I had. The community and culture of the Deaf is one that is enriching when it comes to life's perspective.
Thirdly, I am a self taught graphic designer. I started while I was in university. I continued to learn using adobe Photoshop. Of late I am learning video editing...the aim is to be able to create lessons for my students so we can save time and have more meaningful discussions each time we meet. Technology has enabled us to do such things, especially in a country like South Africa.
I am passionate about education and fusing it with technology. My hope is that with the skills I have accumulated I will contribute much in society.
I serve in a local church where I coordinate all the creative work that is needed.
