the ugly truth and some uncomfortable facts

the ugly truth i that i'm not much of a blogger - i'm not a blogger at all.  mostly i'm a lurker mostly, a sharer of interesting facts and information as i see it and i hope that other see value in what i share.  to be a good blogger as i see it you need to be part exhibitionist, part snake charmer, full time center of attention that likes to parade their lives in front of others.  i'm far too private for that kind of scrutiny.  at parties i'm the guy over against the wall scoping out the goings on or quietly chatting with a few well-known associates and making snarky observations about our fellow participants - yeah we were those guys, the chronically uncool, the overlooked, the underachievers.

i have two main passions in my life - the first being a love for architecture and the second a love of gardening. i tried combining both into the practice of sustainability in buildings and permaculture - creating green buildings that work with their environment not against it.  i'm fascinated with the concept of being off-grid, being independent on the services of some faceless and hence unaccountable entity.

my gardening has been curtailed by a stroke i had four years ago that's has left me partially paralyzed in the left leg, arm and hand.  i now use a wheelchair to get around, so no more binding over to plant, weed or harvest.  it has also forced me to live in an assisted nursing facility.  the main casualty has been my privacy. i have none. i'm required to share a room to qualify for medicaid.  there are other indignities which i may chronical at some future point - there are a number of humorous goings on here but i;m not sure i'm willing to mine that particular vein.

so i expect to resteem more than i originate for the time being until i 'find my voice' and get more comfortable in the stemit world.  i've been told i can be quite entertaining, time will tell.
