My Leap of Faith in HIVE- An Introduction

A thunderous hello to everyone all over the globe all the way from Cebu, Philippines!

To my dear readers,

Hello, my fellow gorgeous-minded people! I am Al, but over here you can call me Alme and I am at your service. Before I got here, I was just an unchained mind just wandering around, letting the wind take me wherever and looking for a place to put my thoughts,and finally here I am at this wonderful platform called HIVE, where I can put my thoughts. I am quite grateful to be here. I express my gratitude to @rainebow0407 for introducing me and to Miss @indayclara for allowing me to be included in such an opportunity in HIVE. Please allow me to share my thoughts and buckle up as I drag you along to this beautiful mess I call my life!

        **WHO AM I?**

Once again, I'd like to introduce myself. I am Alme, I'm a girl who often gets lost in her own thoughts. A dreamer, I'd say. There are matters that I am passionate about and I write about them. The matters are love and life. I yearn for questions and topics that make my mind and mouth go on a ramble about.

 **THINGS I'M INTERESTED IN**

Playing Instruments

What do you guys think of when you think of the coolest instrument? I'd bet that most people would say the electric guitar and maybe even the drums. But for me, it has always been the ukulele. For some reason, I've always admired people who play that instrument. The ukulele opened doors for me as a musician myself. Being able to play the ukulele, has made playing other instruments like the acoustic and electric guitar much easier.

Playing instruments was something I thought I could never do when I was younger. I lacked confidence and underestimated myself. Making the first step is always crucial in doing the things you love. Take that leap of faith and you'll find yourself in a whole new world.

Crocheting

I started crocheting in the middle of the pandemic. I was bored and had too much time on my hands. The pandemic took a toll on me as a student. I found myself drowning in depression. I felt isolated from the world and my friends. Fun fact: I was so excited about crocheting in the beginning that even before the crochet hooks I ordered came, I made myself a crochet hook out of chicken wire just so I could start practicing. I used crocheting as a tool for showing my loved ones that I care for them and love them dearly. Crocheting serves as a creative outlet for me; it helped my mental state and made me want to look forward to what I can make and do in the future.

Public Speaking

I've always been shy, even when I was younger. However, I find myself filled with excitement and thrill when it comes to public speaking. Joining my school publication back when I was in elementary was my first step in public speaking. I grew much more confident in my ability to speak. Last school year, I found myself hosting a Christmas party for our class. Even when it was quite nerve-wracking because it was mostly impromptu, I still enjoyed it so much.

I recently had to present in front of a small crowd, and it was impromptu speaking. I was called in second, it was exhilarating. I've never felt more alive. I stood there and did my best while my heart was beating loudly. My words just flowed out of me like a river, it felt so natural. I felt like I was in my element.

Even with that, I still have a lot of things to work on when it comes to public speaking. I will always strive to be better in all parts of public speaking, may it be my pronunciation or as well as my hand pgestures and actions.

TV Shows and Anime

As an avid watcher of TV shows and anime, I find not only the shows themselves comforting but their fandom as well. If you guys don't know what a fandom is, according to Merriam-Webster; it is the state or attitude of being a fan. I am a big fan of the following shows/anime: Warrior Nun, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Lucifer, Avatar The Last Airbender, The Legend Of Korra, Attack On Titan, Monster, Saiki K, Jujutsu Kaisen and many more. You may conclude that I am in a lot of fandoms and you would be right. I am in a lot of fandoms.

I was and still am obsessed with these shows and anime. The different narratives and perspectives in each of these shows and animes are what keep me hooked to them. I slowly fell in love with the characters and eventually adapted to their different attributes. I plan to talk and blog about them here with this wonderful opportunity I was given.

HOW I DESCRIBE MYSELF IN ONE WORD

Eunoia: Greek word meaning beautiful thinking. It is a word that is deeply tied to me in more ways than one. This beautiful-sounding word is what I would describe myself because I’d like to think that I have an intelligent and beautiful mind. The prompts inside my notes app are a witness to that, as well as my close friends.

THINGS YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO FROM ME

From all of the things that I have mentioned just now, it is clear that I have a lot of interests. Those interests include; talking about my experiences in crocheting, my thoughts about different shows and anime, my journey as a musician, my experiences as a student and even going on different trips and places with my friends and family.

With this opportunity that I have been given in HIVE, I will humbly see to it that I will make use of it to the fullest. I want my words to reach the hearts of all my readers and I wish to make something with the purpose of making other people happy, making myself be happy in the process, and see people relate to the things I write and blog about. This is my leap of faith, a chance to change the course of my life. With pleasure, I accept.
