RE: I am very excited about introducing myself

Hello, and welcome to the otherside. Steemit is a little bit different than Facebook I am told, don't know for sure, never could get into FB. Any how here is a link I did that contains useful information for new users. Oh if you have things on FB or elsewhere that you will be pulling over here, make sure you link your FB to Steemit, I don't know how that is done, but cheetah bot is very good at finding things that are copied. Top half of this link contains the useful stuff, the other half is pretty much my stuff, I like to read and sometime listen to music when i am in a reading mood.

The Steemit Newbie Resteem Initiative project, well its a few of us below minnow status people, (Redfish/Plankton), that have decided that to help the new users like ourselves gain a little traction. There are a lot of minnow support people out there, but no one that really helps out the new users. If you got any questions you can post any question on any of the newbieresteem post like this one ATTENTION NEWBIES: from @ilovepoorpeople, or drop a note on any of @mudcat36 or @davemccoy 's post and they will try to answer questions, or even the newbie one on my post.

Enjoy your time here.

Good afternoon bashadow,
I will have to learn about resteeming and the impact it has on your ratings. I have read some cautions about resteeming. I will check out your posts.
Thanks for pointing me to info for me to consider.
Have a good day

Resteeming, as far as I can tell, has no impact on you if you resteem, other than cluttering up your blog. There seems to be two roads of thought on that, one- - When you re-steem a lot - it hides your work from people looking for what you have done. - not good for someone just starting out that want to have their work noticed, so as a new user careful how much you resteem, do not hide your own work. Number two - - By re-steeming an individual's blog that individual may re-steem you. Once again as a new user you need to be able to let your work shine through.

My thoughts on re-steemers only and bot and services that say they can resteem you to thousands of people. What good does it do to use one of them. It is not like your post is going to stand out and stay at the top of their re-steem list. They are a complete and utter waste of time, and if they charge a waste of money.

The program that @mudcat36 and @davemccoy are running is not a resteem service so to speak. They are looking and trying to help people like you, (brand new), get a leg up. They do resteem a post of yours but more than that, if they see something that is off a little bit, they will critique the post, let you know if the tags you used are appropriate, and try to give a little bit of visibility by exposing your post to their followers. They, like me, are a bit choosey over who they help that request it. me I just go and hunt sometimes for new users to help, along with one or two that respond on my newbieresteemday post.

So basically if you have a question or need help, drop a line on my master link post, or one of my newbieresteemday post, and i will try to help. Same goes for @mudcat36 and @davemccoy, or any of the others that use the newbieresteemday tag.

I appreciate the clarification. I think the impact of redeeming would have caught me off guard. I definitely do not want my work overshadowed since I am a newbie.
They thanks for your insights
