Hello everyone!
My name is Daria and I'm an artist from Poland.
My biggest passion is symbolic art and illustrations, I'm also a graphic designer and an art teacher, graduated in Game Design (Silesian University). It would be hard to list everything I do with visual art, I'm always hungry for knowledge, constantly trying new stuff and possibilities. I develop as a therapist using colors, composition and texture to communicate with unconscious mind.
I'm crazy about plants! Gardening is my new big hobby although I don't have any real land yet but more than 50 flowerpots are all around my flat and balcony, including strawberries, tomatoes, a lemon tree and my oldest friend - a fifteen years old cactus 🌵
In my spare time I enjoy cooking healthy vegan meals and share them with people around me to promote balanced diet based on plants because sharing food is like sharing love 🌿
I have probably more hobbies and interests than time for every each of them. I try to read a lot of books and to write articles. I craft some jewellery, I make tattoos, I do some yoga and I learn about psychology, astrology and fitotherapy 🌻
I'm a photomodel and a photographer without a proper camera.
I'm into eco-housing and permaculture, I do massages and I absolutely love to talk with people.
Why am I here?
My dear friend @deepresearch invited me here and told me about the Hive community. I was astonished to discover places like this actually exist, so here I am!
- I'd like to share my art here and write articles about techniques, color-psychology and other related topics
- Also I want to post about garden and impart my experience with growing flowers, fruits and vegetables (and possibly some nice recipes also)
- Eventually, but just as important, I hope to learn about cryptocurrencies and blockchain, which is absolutely new to me at this point

Welcome to the blockchain - as you say you are new to this stuff.. there’s lots to learn and understand, but even people like me (a video guy) can get a grip on things by reading and interacting with people here.
But it’s not entirely what HIVE is about.
For me it’s about finding your community (what ever interest that might be) and writing about what you are about and sharing it.
The crypto side of things is a sweet bonus but just think of it as a neat platform to talk. :)

Well, I have little experience in game industry but my brother works in game company and sometimes we do some projects together and I have all of the fresh news from industry and I'm quite aware of what quality is in demand.
Game graphics is only a hobby for me atm but I still do sometimes an art projects for games as a freelancer.

Oooh I'd imagine having such information can be super helpful if you were someone who's looking to get into the game industry as an artist like me.
Oh, nothing specific, really. I simply find it pretty cool to hear someone's experience in it ^^
Everything depends on what do you want to do in game industry. A job as a concept artist involves both creativity and skills in quick sketching, coloring and gathering inspirations, also photo-bashing is a common practice. Sometimes a company requires to know basics of 3D modelling and rendering and it's a huge plus if company is developing 3D games.
As an ilustrator f. ex. you have to show absolutely the best skills in painting and there is no space for mistakes. It's much harder than simply to make concepts.
As a 2D graphic, you have to know about design, user experience and of course a mix of skills which helps you to make good quality backgrounds, characters, items, concepts, etc.
As a 2D animator is good to know how Unity engine works, how to deal with bones and classic animation.
Each company has their own target.
It's good to play new games and to get closer to developers communities as they often share progress and ask other developers for advice. You can learn even without making your own game but it's good to start at least a small project :)
And they say playing games won't get you anywhere XD
Thank you for the insight! Those sound so tough, especially when competitions are everywhere. But if they are so easy then what's so cool about them, right? Starting a small project sound very, very tempting to me but since I don't know coding yet, I guess I'll learn little by little as I fill my character art portfolio :)

Don't worry about coding. There are more programmers eager to work with graphic artists than vice versa ;) If you have a lot of nice concepts and graphics prepared to imply (and a story, of course) someone definitely will show up to help you with that :)

It sure looks as if you have a lot of high-in-demand skills around here, so I'm sure you'll be finding success!
As for tips, I think mine would be to focus on counting new good relationships made on the platform rather than the number of upvotes etc. It's more than just a social media platform, but also a community with joint-ownership in the platform, so people tend to be more supportive of those that take the time to get to know them.
Anyways, I look forward to seeing what you'll be sharing and to get to know you:)
