Good day, Hive! I recently heard about this platform from a fellow creative who couldn’t stop raving about how supportive and innovative the community is. Intrigued, I dove in headfirst—and I’m so glad I did. I’m Callie, a full-time horror artist fueled by the macabre and driven by the thrill of bringing nightmares to life. There’s something wonderfully cathartic about taking the creatures that lurk in the shadows of my imagination and making them tangible for the world to see.
My journey into the horror realm began back in January 2014, when I graduated from the Tom Savini School for Special Makeup Effects. That hands-on education gave me the confidence to experiment with sculpting, molding, and casting—skills that have shaped every piece I create. By August 2019, one of my proudest (and creepiest) works—a life-sized “Uncle Fester” lamp—was featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not: All Weird! All True! I’ve also had the honor of collaborating with horror icon Bill Moseley in July 2021, designing two pairs of custom shoes specifically for him. Shortly after, I hit a social media milestone of 10k followers on Instagram in August 2021.
A key aspect of my work is capturing the tension between fascination and dread. I love pushing the boundaries of what’s considered “normal” in art, and I’m endlessly inspired by the thought that horror can make us confront our deepest fears while also igniting our curiosity. Whether I’m painting, sculpting, or designing custom pieces, I always aim to evoke that visceral reaction—the kind where you’re torn between wanting to look away and desperately needing to see more.
In September 2021, I had the chance to partner with Code Orange frontman Jami Morgan to create a custom jacket for their “Out for Blood” tour, and a month later, I left the corporate world to pursue my art full-time—a leap of faith that changed everything. By February 2022, my online following had grown to 20k, and in July 2023, I was named “Best Artist” in Phoenix, the first horror artist ever to receive that honor! My journey has also led to collaborations with T.U.K. Shoes—first in November 2023, then again in October 2024—both times allowing me to bring my dark, twisted perspective to unique footwear designs.
Now I’m here on Hive, eager to share my story, my art, and all the eerie details that come with it. I’ll be posting behind-the-scenes glimpses of my process—hours spent sculpting, painting, and wiring up monstrous creations. I believe in pulling back the curtain on what it really takes to thrive as a full-time horror artist: the sleepless nights, the creative breakthroughs, and all the wild adventures that come from chasing an unconventional passion. If you’re into the strange and spooky, stick around—I can’t wait to show you the darker side of my world. Let’s make nightmares together!

This art is disturbing...I love it :)
Ahhh, thank you! I'm excited to share more of my work on here and with you all. ☺️
Yup, you are doing it right! I love horror, and great artwork, I look forward to seeing more of it! That Art the Clown and the Girl is awesome! Such a cool horror series. I remember it took me three times to get through the first Terrifier haha.
Thank you so much for the kind words! The horror community has brought some of my best friends and some incredible people into my life and I'm stoked to see what it'll do for me on here. Terrified is a rad series, it's just pure entertainment - haha.
YES! You used the word rad!! haha awesome :) :) What is your favorite Halloween costume that you dressed up as? Named based Horror Artists in Phoenix? Wait do you live in AZ??
Ohhh, that's tricky! 🤔 I take Halloween seriously and while I don't always dress up, I go all out with my display for the yard. I was named "Best Artist" in Phoenix, which was a first with being a horror artist. I spent 3 wild years in Arizona before recently relocating to the East Coast. ☺️
Awesome!! I live in the Phoenix area too. FYI the high for today is 80F :) What is it on the East Coast? And why did you move??? lol :)
Check out this awesome Halloween house in Scottsdale:
Oh I'm so familiar with that house! I was in Tempe for the last couple of years and you can still see some of my work at Terror Trader in Chandler. I used to sit in there and paint during the days and would vend at all of their events and had a booth in there. I vended at Days of the Dead in June last year, too. Rub in the weather, everyone I'm friends with out there still text me daily updates about it. 😂 Check out my friends Chris and Lola at Spooky Swirls, too. All horror themed bakery! Also, if you're a coffee fiend like I am, check out The Buzzed Goat and have one for me -- I miss their cold brew terribly.
Awesome! Yeah I thought you would be familiar with that house. It is my favorite Halloween house in the valley. I still need to go to Terror Trader, I have yet to visit it. Spooky Swirls sounds awesome, being a chef and baker myself, I need to check that place out for sure.
Good luck on Hive - i like the post - feel free to ask questions, a lot guys are happy to help, support and give you hints :-)
Hey, thank you so much! I'm sure if I have any questions there will be plenty of support from everyone. ☺️
Not a big horror fan, but I like the boots. 😀 Welcome to Hive!

Glad to hear that. And even if you only share about your horror interests, I'm sure you will find people who will like your stuff.
Either way, I'm excited to be here and connect with everyone. ☺️

Welcome to Hive...
nice work :-)
Thank you so much! ☺️
Oh man, so glad i spotted your post. So cool! I love it! My friend worked in make up in NYC for years and her favorite was horror movie makeup.
Im so glad you found Hive. The key here is persistence and engagement. But the truth is I recommend just doing it for yourself. Treating Hive like a digital diary thats for you, and if others enjoy, great, but you first! Some people get stuck on the upvotes and money aspects of hive. Your journey will be way better if you dont worry about that side. Hive is a slow burn, then all sudden you are recognized and known for putting out quality content. But it takes the slow steeady leg work.
Feel free to reach out with any questions whenever!
Wishing you much horror filled hive adventures!
Hey, thank you so much!!! SPFX is something that I fell in love with at a young age and being able to create monsters is one of my favorite things so that's awesome that you have a friend who was also into that world!
Cool art. Welcome to Hive!
Thank you so much, I'm so happy to be here! ☺️
