Traveling around the world as a Trader and English Teacher

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

I'm a Brazilian who teaches English since 1998. I'm not a native English speaker.
I started my business from scratch when I still worked at Congonhas airport.
I used to give private lessons in the morning and work in an airline company in the afternoon/evening.
After a while, when I started making 3 times more money teaching privately than working in the airport I decided to leave my job. Since then I never worked for anybody else anymore. I even managed to have an English school with 6 teachers and 2 receptionists.
Nowadays I changed the whole structure of my business and work in my own school as a private teacher of English and I also Portuguese for Foreigners. Most of the management activities are automatized and online.
I also trained many people from many countries and many different parts of Brazil on how to become a professional and successful English teacher: best teaching methods and books to use, what kind of website to build, how to prospect, how to manage the business, scheduling, paperwork, etc.).
I'm happy to see many of my students teaching English all around the world.
Many years ago, one of my teachers, after finishing one of my training courses, told me about Bitcoin.
I tried to understand it but at the time it seemed to me as a Ponzi scheme. I think the price of Bitcoin was less than a couple of dollars at that time. It took me years to realize how I missed a great business opportunity. Only last year, surfing the web, I bumped into an article and some youtube videos explaining all about what Bitcoin was and its current price.
When I saw the price and how it was already being used everywhere, I couldn't believe! I really felt that I would be now a millionaire if I had listened more carefully to my teacher (I've no idea where he is now, I wonder how rich he may be nowadays).
As I make my living giving private lessons of English in my school and through Skype, I started studying more about Bitcoin and the crypto market. I started doing some arbitrage and trading. This new activity fit perfectly in my daily schedule because sometimes students do not show up. I started trading whenever a student was absent.
I believe that an English teacher can easily travel around the world and make a living teaching English and trading.
Now when I train people to become English teachers I also tell them about Bitcoin and other cryptos like Steem.
For example, I have a student who lives in Europe and pays me with Bitcoin.
With Bitcoin or Steem, someone who speaks English fluently can teach anybody from anywhere in the world
receiving in Bitcoin or Steem.
If you have a Mycelium wallet you can use its platform to create an easy way for somebody to pay you in Bitcoin
(see an example here: https://goo.gl/a7xugi).
If you want an easy way to accept bitcoin in your business or website, go and check Mycellium gear here:
https://admin.gear.mycelium.com. It's easy to configure.
Well, that's all folks! This article is to give you ideas. Whatever you work with, especially if you are a native English speaker and knows how to make some money with trading, you might consider traveling around the world in this way. Maybe you are tired of your job or business. Maybe your boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse, broke up with you. Maybe you want to do something different with your life and at the same time bring some value to others. Teaching English is opening a world of knowledge for so many people who still don't know how to write it and speak it properly. Now with Airbnb, Uber, and so many services and apps that make our lives easier everywhere in the world, it's only a question of making a decision.
