Meet me

Ruth Mgbeken is my name but u can call me Ruthie-luv, I'm a Nigerian and I hail from Delta state. I grew up in Benin and I’m resident in Port Harcourt. Did I forget to mention that I'm married with a lovely kid? (Smiles)

Marital life

I've been married for over two years now. I’m married to the best man in the world, my partner in crime, my confidant, backbone, brother, Father, my man crush and above all, my bestie. I guess you are wandering who fits into all these qualities. Our union is blessed with a precious little damsel who is a year plus now. She is an epitome of beauty; she’s cute, charming and fun to be with. These two (hubby and daughter) rock my world and I can't imagine life without them.

Allow me to crush on myself

I'm responsible, beautiful, charming and attractive. I live up my name (Ruth); I'm a companion and friend, an interesting person. I am always happy and I am a fun lover.

My hobbies

I love going out to fun places. I also love reading interesting stuffs, travelling, meeting people, chatting. I adore beauty, fashion and entertainment as well.

What I do?

I'm an entrepreneur, a wig maker and a teacher.

Life as a wife, teacher, entrepreneur and a mum?

As a wife:
Well, being a wife and a working-class lady is somewhat challenging; in the sense that I have to attend to my husband's need (physically, emotionally and otherwise), do the house chores, etc., and also give my job the maximum attention needed.

As a teacher:
When it comes to my teaching profession, I do my research; prepare notes of lessons, mark student’s notes and so much more. However, with a supportive husband like mine, it has all been achievable.

As an entrepreneur:
I sell jewelries and make wigs. I get supplies delivered to me and I usually dedicate my weekends to making wigs before they are ready for sale and delivery.

As a mum:
The joy that comes with motherhood beclouded my mind that I never considered the challenges that comes with it. For instance, being a wife and a mum is double responsibility.

There are challenges though, like when hubby is away, or during financial implications, when the baby is sick – of which I am sentenced to sleepless nights and other challenges too numerous to mention.

Finding a balance is by being a wife, mother and career woman is quite tougher than you think. It might interest you to know that I resumed work only a few months after my daughter’s delivery. I had to register my baby in a day care, which happens to be in the school where I work; that somehow solved the problem of who looks after our baby while we go in search of our daily bread.

So, if you are a wife, mother, a career lady and an entrepreneur, you will agree with me that being all of that is such a challenging responsibility. But with proper planning, an understanding partner and with God on my side, I have been coping just fine.

Before I bore you with too much tales, I’d like to say that this is simply my introductory post. Thank you for your time and attention.
