Well let me see if I can break this down for you. Each post that you receive payment from is paid in STEEM BACKED DOLLARS which is a cryptocurrency on the market as well. When you receive a payout, it automatically goes to your Steem wallet on the platform.
From there you have to either send them to the exchange and sell for bitcoins which then you convert to cash and deposit it in your bank account. Or you can order a prepaid card from payza.com which allows you to spend over 50 different cryptocurrencies by sending it to the card.
Basically you can send what you earn in SBD to the prepaid card and spend it where ever visa or MasterCard is accepted. Hope this answered your question @johnkeets786
